HDTV is less available in Canada.

For the price, this is one of the best 43" HDTVs on the market. Many have viewed this TV in my home and have been disappointed with the standard broadcasts (4:3), yet the "WOW" factor is undeniable when viewing DVDs or the two HDTV channels available via satellite.

Picture quality is superb,ease of use,slim design.

audio is not as great as some other T.V.s,but who cares,I have it connected to my DTS receiver.

The first thing that attracted me to this T.V. was the picture quality,"WOW",also this was one of the few T.V.s that would fit in my wall unit.I compared many T.V.s for months and the picture looked just as good as some costing more than twice this amount,this was hard because all the T.V.s were displayed with high definition programming,you will not notice much difference until you view regular digital cable or sattelite,thats when this T.V really stands out.The remote function seems simple to use,and there are a lot of nice features, such as perfect picture,wich automatically fine tunes the T.V. to it's best possible settings.This T.V.also has excellent progressive scanning,such as 3:2 pulldown and 3DY comb filtering.I hooked my non progressive scan DVD player via the component out jacks and could not tell the difference between that and a high rated progressive scan player,the picture still looked awsome.overall I'm very pleased with this T.V.

This TV can't be beat for the price. Even at full price (I was an employee at Circuit City). The only flaw is the magic focus auto convergence. These TV's take a beating durring shipping (as do all). If you are planing to spend between $1500 and $2500 on a new TV this is the best one out there. I know, I spent 3 yrs. researching the market. Sony TV's are better but more expensive.

I suggest if you buy one use it for about 2-3 months to break it in then call Hitachi and they will send out a tech to adjust the convergence and other settings (its free for the first year). I love mine.
