I bought these slightly used off ebay for $250 plus another $75 for shipping. I have been using them with Klipsch RF-82's and and RC-62. They sound great are efficient like you would expect any Klipsch to be and have served their purpose until now. I have gotten into more Audio DVD's and it is only know that I can tell the tonal difference between the Reference and Synergy lines. The KSF-S5's are great surround speakers for any home theater. Don't let anyone tell you that the rears aren't important.....they are very much so and these would serve 95% of above average to high end surround systems beautifully.

Strength:

Dynamic Range, Strong Tight Bass, Natural Highs. Price: You'd have to spend twice as much to get near the sound!

Weakness:

None!

I got mine a couple of months ago at Ubid for $147 each (almost $340 total with thier inflated shipping and handling and taxes). This was still $50 less than I found them anywhere else.

Very compact but you wouldn't guess it by the sound that comes out of them. I hooked them up as regular front speakers first just to get an idea of what they were capable of and I was very surprised. The mid and high range was on par with my Klipsch Forte II's, while the bass was very excellent down to about 80 Hz, where it rolled off.

As surrounds they diffuse the sound just enough to hide exact location while maintaining the sounds true position.

These are really great speakers for the price!

Unfortunately I've been trying to buy another pair but U bid sold out about a month ago.

Strength:

I am very impressed with these speakers.I use them as surrounds for DVD/laserdisc movies and also for listening to music on the 5 channel stero option on my receiver. They are terrific.

Weakness:

Non noticed as yet.

I was actually considering purchasing the B&W dipolar's but at $1500, I was thinking a bit too much money plus they probably are being replaced with a newer model. I saw the KSF-S5's on the demo/returned table at Audio King at a reduced price.
Anyhow these speakers were marked at $499.95 in listening room #1 and $449.95 in listening room #2.Perhaps a mistake, anyhow they were guaranteed 30 days no questions asked.
After some discussion I purchased them for $330 for the pair.
Equipment:
Adcom 5503, Denon 3600DTS, PSB Stratus Golds & C-6 center channel.
The surrounds are rated for maximum of 100 watts with 400 peak, however they handle 110 just fine and I have pushed them hard.

Strength:

Very Efficent, Clarity, Sound Dispurtion

Weakness:

None

These rear surrounds are extremely efficient. I had to turn the rear level down slightly on my A/V receiver so they did not over run my mains. The detail and clarity of these speakers matches others I have listened to at twice the price. The speakers handle a pretty wide range of music and movies with beautiful reproduction. The bass is surprisingly strong considering their size and the highs, well; those horns can really belt it out. I highly recommend these to anyone considering purchasing them.

Well Klipsch has done it again! These speakers are some of the best surround speakers you could own, and the ambient sound they reproduce is phenomenal. They totally envelope you in crystal clear sound, The bass they produce is awesome for a sealed enclosure and the wide sound field makes placement a snap. At 93db these speakers reproduce even the smallest details you normally wouldn't hear from a less efficient speaker! They come in a white or black finish(I got the white) and already have the supplied keyhole bracket attached so installation on my walls was a snap. Retail is like $470 inc/tax but can be had off the net for $325 ! All I can say is that these speakers are a great buy. I was considering the KSP-S9 but decide against it seeing how they were like 250-300 dollars more, 10 pounds more, and not quite as efficient. I am extremely impressed buy these surrounds, they are about 13 pounds each and trapezoidal in shape. Take a listen and you will become a believer !!!!

I HAVE OWNED THE KSF-S5'S FOR ALLMOST A YEAR NOW. THEY GIVE THE BEST SOUND OF ANY I'VE USED. MY LISTENING ROOM IS LARGE 24X25 THE KLIPSCH ARE THE ONLY SPEAKERS THAT CAN GIVE ME THE WIDE SOUND STAGE I WANT FOR MY REAR'S IN SUCH A LARGE AREA. THEY ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO THE TYPE OF CABLES YOU USE. SPEND A LITTLE EXTRA FOR SOME GOOD ONES,I USE ESOTRIC.

Sound dispursion

I've had these suround speakers for over a year now and really love them. The give very good sound dispursion for rear suround fill. I picked these up on the net for about $325 for the pair, a bargin compared to retail($450)here in Dallas. I have a large room and have them hanging from the ceiling pointed down to the center line of the room.

Strength:

Appearance is very good. Quality build.

Weakness:

Sound quality

I do not like the sound of these surrounds. They do not match my klf 10's at all. They are not nearly efficient enough. I can't even hear them in Dolby Digital ! They are a little far away, cause my living room is rectangular in shape but , I should be able to hear them. On my setup with my receiver I have them maxed out and my center and fronts turned way down

Strength:

Great sound and looks.

Weakness:

None found.

I bought these for $107/speaker from UBid. After using them for a while, all I can say is "WOW"! These are great speakers and the awards that they've earned were just deserved. I was never really happy with the bipolars that I was using for surrounds. They were good for Dolby Pro-Logic but just didn't sound right for Dolby Digital and DTS. The KSF-S5 speakers blend seamlessly with the rest of my Klipsch speakers to create an awesome sound.
