Strength:

DEEP, powerful bass that literally shakes the whole house! Best customer service ANYWHERE!!!

Weakness:

None so far.

I ordered my SVS 25-31PC+ to replace my Velodyne CHT-10. Although the Velo did a fair job on bass, I felt like I was still missing something. After reading glowing reviews of SVS in several audio/video forums, I decided to take a look at one. I emailed SVS with my room dimensions and types of movies that I enjoy, and within hours I had a reply from Tom V. (One of the SVS founders!), in which he recommended the 25-31PC+ for me. I received my SVS in just a few short days, and after a little tweaking it with my Avia disc, I was ready for a trial run. I put in Lord of the Rings, and went to the first chapter with the battle scene. The volcano shook my whole livingroom! When Sauron's ring hit the ground, I could FEEL it in my chest! I was completely blown away! But at the same time, on quieter passages, the SVS almost disappears. There is no overpowering of the rest of the speakers. But when the SVS is called on, boy does it ever deliver! It also does an excellent job with music. It blends in seamlessly with the other speakers in my setup. So if you're in the market for a sub that you can feel...as well as hear, then you can't go wrong with SVS!

Strength:

The loudest, tightest, best sounding sub I have heard !!

Weakness:

My wife is not too thrilled with the effect on her pictures hanging crooked

I replaced two Velodyne 18 inch subs with these. After redecorating out media room, my wife was less than thrilled with these huge black boxes. I finally went with the SVS after talking to Ron and Tom ( the owners of SVS )at length. They thought I would not be giving up much bass, and the SVS fit behind my Klipsh Belles, where they cannot be seen. I was not prepared for just how good these subs would be. My brother manufacturers pro audio speakers, and has some pretty good measuring equipment. From 18 feet away these subs hit 112 db at 25 hz. Pictures went crooked, and the entire firsr floor of our house was shaking. I do not know if they had any more SPLs left, we were afraid to try ! More important, they sound GREAT !! Much better than the Velodynes ! We are watching movies and having a blast ! We are hearing things we have never heard before... deep palpable bass. The listening position shudders !! BUT - there is only bass when called for, no false, boomy bass...
