Strength:

I was fortunate to have scored a pair of 1010-sen subs. I have used a several amps to power them with very nice results. They go deep enough to make you grin, and really pack a punch for movie watching. I found them to be sublime with music. That’s 80% of my listening. They really came to life when I picked up a few RBH SA-200 sub amps. The sub became a whole new creature when using the Sa. I have two 1010 subs 10 feet apart and about 1 foot away from the back wall. I have one update. I have updated one of the subs with RBH reference 10” drivers. I dropped one of the 1010 into storage. The single cabinet with two 10” could destroy my basement theater if I had enough power. I’m using a single SA-400, which is more than enough power to rip your socks off. The sheer brute force is not the most endearing feature actually. It’s the finesse at low volumes that really makes this shine. What an incredible driver the RBH folks have developed.

Weakness:

Hard to move when your back is fused. The addition of two reference drivers makes this an incredibly heavy sub to move around.

Strength:

They don’t have a category so I am rating my RBH 1010-SEN with a RBH sub amp, so I kinda have the same thing in the aggregate. They have wonder speed and finesse with everything from a depth charge to a the deep tone that starts before the actor sees the vampire. Musical, extremely powerful. I picked up two for 400 bucks. I had to split them up because worry about the stability of my sheet rock. You have to walk into my garage before the base wave is fully developed. There is no greater quality/value than an RBH speaker. You can upgrade the drivers to the reference class, but I have no scratch that this sub won’t itch. I have owned many high end JBL, KEF, Mission, old Infinity, Definitive tech, bla bla bla. There is no company that makes such a quality product for the cost. Their engineers take such pride in what they make, and the founder is really a wonderful man. He works with a big black dog laying on the floor. It’s sweet to live 5 miles from the mothership.

Strength:

richness and depth of sound

Weakness:

subwoofer is big. difficult to hide

I purchased these speakers almost 2 years ago. I first read about these speakers online while I was researching new speakers for my home theater setup. I ended up purchasing these speakers sight unseen as I could not find a dealer in the entire DFW metroplex that even carried the signiture series. I could not have been happier. These speakers sound great!! The sound seperation, richness, depth and clarity is breathtaking. Friends have come over and commented on how good these speakers really sound. Listening to The Eagles, Hell Freezes Over DVD on DTS tells the whole story. Sit back, close your eyes and you will believe that you are there onstage. Not only do you hear the richness and depth of the music, but you will feel it as well. I have listened to Infinity, Bose, Monitor Audio, Polk, Kenwood, and Pioneer speakers before and since I have purchased these RBH speakers and they just do not compare. Speaker setup: Front: RBH 1044SE Center: RBH 441SE Rear: RBH 61SE Sub: RBH 1010 SEP Cables: BetterCables.com premium speaker wire

Strength:

This unit has lots of output, great connection options and a defeatable crossover.
I have found it to be extremely listenable because unlike some of the "mega watt" subwoofers it does not lend itself to be tubby sounding.

Weakness:

This unit can be hard to balance with smaller or less efficient speakers due to an unusually high sensitivity in the gain control. It also is rather large and harder to place than some other subs.

I would highly recomend this subwoofer for an one who desires lots of output capability and still wants accurate reproduction of low frequencies.
