Strength:

Accurate bass

Rounds out a system with the Zeros.

Absolutely phenomenal. Enough deep clean bass to rock the house.

Great for music, but if you like your bass heavy and hard hitting for movies, just crank up the bass knob on the pre-amp.

Strength:

fast and accurate bass, musicality.

Weakness:

too shiny surface

Thank you guys for enthusiastic reviews that lead me buy this one. I don't think sub-two produces the deepest bass among the competiters, but it is one of the most accurate and fastest sub, and that's my priority.
I'll put a detailed story about it in two weeks.

Strength:

Clean, articulate and powerful

Weakness:

none

The Sub Two complements an all-NHT setup: my two fronts are NHT 2.9's, and AudioCenter-2 center speaker, and two 1.5's (rear). All blends seamlessly for a terrific system powered by a Denon 5700 receiver. I also use a Denon 3700 DVD/CD player (love it!). Everything is musical, realistic.

The Sub Two is powerful (home theater shakes and thumps, but cleanly!) but articulate. I listen to a lot of classical music, but can tame the Sub Two to more realistic bass sound (when's the last time you heard the string basses in an live orchestra "thump" your chest??), especially for "lighter" music, such as jazz. For whomping, dominating, mushy bass, this probably won't fill the bill. I auditioned a few other subs and did NOT like the booming, mushy effect. I want clean and articulate sound. The Sub Two is perfect.

As explained in other review of this speaker, the amp which sits on top of the speaker allows another Sub Two to be connected, and I plan to buy another one for stereo effect as well as to increase the "thump" for HT.

This sub gets my highest endorsement.

Strength:

Moves a lot of air, goes very deep, small cabinet footprint to fit into tight places

Weakness:

None that I could tell

I've had the NHT SW3P for awhile, and while it was excellent for music, it didn't seem to move enough air for home theater. Since I don't use a sub for music, and only for HT, this was a bit of a dilemma.

Enter the SubTwo. I have them set up in the stereo configuration (it comes with 1 controller, that can handle 2 SubTwos, if desired). Each SubTwo has its own built-in 500W Sunfire amplifier. I can tell you, the surface area of 4 10" drivers, powered by 1,000 watts of Sunfire power, really moves some serious air!

The control unit has a vast array of controls on the front (the SW3P had the controls on the rear!), such as 360 degree phase control, variable crossover, level, etc., as well as the ability to handle mono for the ".1" of HT use, and stereo for music listening. I have it set up as mono, even though there are two units; the reason is that the ".1" signal is mono, and I do not use them for music.

They also have an outo-on feature, when a signal is detected. And an auto-off feature after 45 minutes of no signal.

With the two SubTwo units, they put out more than enough deep bass (20Hz-ish) output for even a large room. And since there are two, each can be set to a lower output level, and thus be able to play with less distortion. For $2K (stereo configuration), these deliver excellent performance, as well as placement flexibility (16" x 16" footprint). An 18" sub from competitors would not only move less air (less driver surface area), but the huge box would be harder to fit into a room.

Definitely give these a listen, and definitely consider the stereo configuration (1 control unit, 2 SubTwo units).
