Strength:

Value, output of bass

Weakness:

Sound quality, blows out very easy

Well, first of all this sub is not bad for the money however I think anyone that can get another 100 bucks together it would be worth it. I got the sub about 2 years ago and had it for about that. I really worked it hard, bringin it to a few small parties and pushing it hard all night. It is not the best sounding sub particularly at low volume, but it can pound. About 3 months ago the speaker went out. When anyone buys a KLH product i would strongly advise you to buy an extended warranty. I was lucky enough to do so, so i went back to BB and got a sony 12 120 watt for about 190. It pounds very hard and the speaker is much stronger then the KLH. Ive taken both out and the magnet on the sony is much larger. If you dont believe me take it out of the KLH, the magnet is pretty small, i was suprised b/c it did pound for a while. So again i would get it for 100 but if you can get another 100 together i would do so. There arnt many options at 100, but at 200-250 there are many.

Strength:

Loudness, features, easy of hook-up

Weakness:

could be a little bit smaller and more efficient

I purchased this subwoofer from Costco. Man, for that price this sure is a good sub. I was looking at buying a yamaha 305 but this one could produce the same amount of sound at a lower cost. I own a pioneer reciever and I hooked the sub up to its pre-out. I enjoy wathcin dvd''s and listening to music because it has a lotta kick. It doesnt seem to rattle the windows at all even at a higher volume. It can rattle pictures though. Overall I recommend buying this subwoofer!

Strength:

Very inexpensive, auto shutoff, variable cutoff & phase inversion controls

Weakness:

Muddy sound, no LFE input, so-so build quality

I purchased this from Costco since it was $20 less than other retailers. It's hooked up to an NAD T750 5.1 receiver with Monster cable. I listen to electronica, techno, jazz and rock mostly, with the occasional classical or soundtrack thrown in.

I originally was adding a sub for movies only, since my Large Advents had excellent bass down to about 35Hz (see reviews). Now I am using it with a pair of NHT Super Ones, which have great midrange and highs but little bass below 60Hz.

The KLH is good for movies, where you'll get thump but no window rattles. It's weaker for music, because it's just too slow to keep up with drums, bass guitar or synth attacks. The amp isn't quite strong enough to shake the house down.

I put some heavy fabric into the port and filled the interior with fiberglass, which tightened the slop up a lot. This is a must if you buy it.

Verdict: It is kinda muddy, and doesn't follow transient signals very well, but what can you expect for $100? The ASW-10 is fine for a lo-fi movie surround system, especially in small rooms, but it isn't going to compete with more expensive subs, especially for music.

Strength:

good bass, weighs in at 40lbs, you dont see that on a sub at this price,

Weakness:

nothing at this price.

for the price you cant beat it. i just picked up another one. i had the othere k.l.h 10-120 for over a year. i never had any trouble with it at all. i pick the other one up for $90:00 dollars. i would reccomend that you just dont crank it up all the way the first time you get it. give it a break in period. once you do that for about two weeks you should be all set.

Strength:

Strong clean pounding power. Inexpensive.

Last year, I bought this powered sub from UBID for $79,
refurbished. The sub was very heavy, the box looked like
it was made from thick plastic material.

It performed very well. I left it on auto-power-on for
convenience. One night while I was sleeping, I thought
there was a thunderstorm going, turns out, the sub was
firing itself. So I set out to buy a new one.
Bought a couple of inexpensive ones from Sony, Aiwa,
real disappointment comparing to KLH. Also noticed that
these are relatively light weight, so weight does have
something to do with it.

So when BestBuy had a sale, I went and got the same
KLH subwoofer again, $129. This time, I also bought the guarantee
$39 for 5 years. And I plug it in a switched power so
it is turned off when not in use, hopefully will
last longer.

I am happy with the sound, and the price.

Strength:

Super-low price for a 120W amp.

Weakness:

None, considering the price!

Wow, I didn't even break $100. There's no room to complain when you get a 10-inch sub and a 120W amp with crossover for under $100. Very easy and simple to hook up, nice and simple black square box design hides nicely under my desk. I bought it to enhance my musical environment in my bedroom, and it definitely has! I'll probably hook it up occasionally to my living room home theater system for a few movies, but it's main stay will be in my bedroom connected to my Aiwa NSX-V8000 component system, which is connected to my computer for "mp3 heaven". My roommate hates me now, and probably also the neighbors on my floor. Oh well, sucks for them.

i paid 150 for it, one week befor it was on sale for 99 but i had to wait a week so i had to pay extra but the box is well worth it... have you ever priced a box?

Strength:

Very loud and low bass if you want it that way, but also sounds great at low volume

Weakness:

Nothing as of yet

This subwoofer, KLH ASW-10120, is a good performing sub at an affordable price. The low-end that this sub prodeuces is suitable for most anyone and you'd be suprised at how hard the 10" hits. The price was a steal at only $90.00 (regular $160). Obviously it isn't the best subwoofer on the market, but this is a very good choice for someone who wants good bass without spending hundreds of dollars. For what you get out of this sub, the price is great and you should consider trying it out.
