Strength:

The quality of the sound experience is of the utmost importance. As long as you continue to increase the quality of the source component, this amplifier will continue to become better. The sound quality of this amplifier is far better than that of other models available at a price point comparable to its own.

Weakness:

Nothing for now

Strength:

Three stars for build quality and features. But ultimately, at least for me, it comes down to sound quality. Step up to a better source component and this amp will keep sounding better. I give this amp an overall rating of 5 stars because its sound quality easily trumps similarly priced designs. truck repair company

Strength:

quality of bass sound (better than 30B). quality/price ratio.

Weakness:

power (especially for movie sound)

I don't agree to bellow posting about booming. I used KEF 20B and 30B repectively more than 6 months. In my experience, KEF 20B is less powerfull than KEF 30B, but the bass quality seems to be better than 30B. The sound of 20B is more tight and more dynamic. The 70 watt RMS power is sufficient for music. But it seems to require more power for loud movie sound.

I'm very disappointed with the quility of this unit, I'm on my third unit and it is acting up. The first unit quit after five days, the second unit was bad right out of the box, and now the third unit has a bad hum and runs extremly hot. I purchased it from UBID.COM, big mistake, I learned the hard way that it is best to buy Electronics from a reputable dealer. I'm in the aggravating process of trying to get my money back on this lemon. NOTE: Save the box, it will be used more than this Sub for sending it back and forth!

Just to follow-up on my previous post about the "booming" problem on the 20B :-

I have finally sent the 20B for repair, and the engineer said that the problem is due to some circuit components' need to be "re-soldering".

This costed me HKD$250 (with "one month" warranty period !)

Hope that the 20B can work normally for coming years ...

Good luck to all other 20B end-users !

Jason.

Strength:

Price/performance ratio

Weakness:

No on/off in the American Model

Like the reviewer below, I also got this from Ubid. I have no problem with it whatsoever. It performs nicely right out of the box.

I wanted to add some oomph to my PSB Image 2B setup without spending too much, espescially with the fact that my wife doesn't like a whole lot of bass (neither do I). Going with KEF sounded reasonable given the opportunity to get this model for under $150. So far it's been working out great for the setup.

Weakness:

problem : continuous booming sound !

Although I have been VERY CAREFUL in using the 20B (i.e. never stress it too hard; everytime I used it, I will let it warm up for over 10 mins; and the volumn is graduately turning up --- i.e. no sudden impact on the subwoofer)

However, starting yesterday, whenever it is turned on, a continuous "booming" sound is coming out --- this "bomming" sound is loud and continuous.

I have tried to alter the subwoofer own's volumn, as well as disconnect the connection from the AV receiver (the Marantz SR7000), but there is no effect at all !

Do any 20B end-users encountered similar problem ?

Looking for any advice or suggestion.

(note : my warranty has expired !)
