Strength:

powerfull, deep and full bass eminates from this small monster

Weakness:

doesn't come with the rabos kit

i bought this sub on ubid before i had even heard it, yes i know i was taking a big chance. but i just had a feeling and the price was right. i did however read the reviews on it. and it got a 4.0 not bad. but what i have noticed about this web site is that there is alot and i mean alot of peopl putting up reviews that dont know what the f..ks that dont know what they are talking about uneducated, dumbass people that cant figuer something out or dont follow the recomended instructions get on here and write a bad review.
this sub i grate sub for the price i paid and the quality of sound that comes out of this small beast has no match in its class or price range. besure to use the parametric equilizer on the sub to fine tune it.

Strength:

It is great. I bought it after reading the reviews on it in the Sound & Vision magazine of july 2001.
This subwoofer has been great. Just as the review said. This is a real subwoofer. The lows are very clear and strong.

Weakness:

none.

This subwoofer is worth looking into.
This sub is a sub. Sound & Vision mag gave it a great review in its summer issue of 2001. They didn't lie. This sub is not one of those make believe subs.

need to spend another 25 bucks for black grill

got it for 400.00 cause it was open box--was mint--it played and i saved 100.00--replaced the pdr10 cause i needed the x20 vol control-another 150.00-all the controls were on back of the pdr10 --level on 100 is on front--easier for me--sound wise both were identical to me -love the black finish?--looks more like a dark choc. black to me but i like it--looks very sleek--and not just a square box look--but that platinum grill is awful--sprayed it black but it dont cut it--ordered the blk grill from infinity 24.95 ship inc--thats a shame-really--blk should come with blk grill and the PLATINUM should be optinal--oh well--all in all a superb speaker--and the built in EQ is mute to me--sounds good enuff the way it is for me ill never use it--not in my 12x14 room lol--buy it and enjoy

Strength:

Tight, controlled bass. Looks. Features for the price. Front level control. Built in bass EQ.

Weakness:

Lacks extension below about 30hz in most rooms. You'll need two if you plan to use in a larger room and want bone-rattling volumes for movies

If this sub extended to 20Hz with authority, it would be tough to beat at any price. You can't expect miracles from a 10 inch driver. Spend some time dialing it in with the built in EQ and it will reward the listener with exceptional quality bass.

I found that placing witin 12 inches of a wall about 3 or 4 feet from a corner works best. Corner placement yielded only marginally better extension in my room and muddied up the overall output.

I bought two of these for my second system. One is really enough since it is a music only system but I would want both if I were also using my second system for movies. They reside in a 13 x 25 room. I have two Citation 7.4 THX subs in my dedicated theater/listening room. When compared to the Citations, the sheer power and extension is missing from the Infinity's but the bass is equally tight and clean.

Spend some time with placement and tuning and this sub is hard to beat for its going price. The model has been discontinued, so they can be had for less than $300 brand new. For music, it's excellent. For movies, you might miss the extra slam and extension if you are an action/adventure fan. Otherwise, recommended. 5 stars for value and 4 for performance.

Strength:

Clean natural bass

Weakness:

Price

Good natural bass sound but the bass optimization is too complicated to understand. I just turn this feature off. One day I will tune it with the kit ( I purchased the kit already ). I hope that Infinity will have a remote control for this sub. Then I do not have to make adjustment at the back of the sub.
I do not have any hum or hiss from the sub as other comments. The hum may come from a bad receiver or cable. I have an Onkyo Intega DTR-7 with Monster Sub Cable. I put my ear next to the sub and had no hum at all.

Strength:

evething. talk about base for just a 10 inch driver!

Weakness:

price

This speaker has some serious base for its size. i cant turn it up all the way or its too much! compared to the velodines, this sub sounded awesome while the velodine sounded like two sticks being hit together. the speaker has an exquisite sound. these infinity type speakers will give you a very realistic sound. compared to the other top end speaker we sell at circuit city the sound field could not be matched. We tested the eagles dvd with dts on the system with an hk avr7000. an exellent receiver by the way if you can afford the sticker price. When the eagles sang on most other speakers it sounded like a recording, Switching to the infinity series we could tell the room the eagles were singing in was there. a wide theatre not a small room. very realistic and just like being at the concert. to test the true potential try eminem on your system, but a word of warning turn down the base to half or youll rattle yor windows too much!

My setup consists of four infinity il 10's for speakers. 2 for fronts 2 for rears and they give me a great sound field.
the infinity il 36 center and the il 100 sub.
receiver-hk avr 500 but soon to be the hk 510 comming in november... hopefully

Strength:

Great Bass reproduction, Great power handling

Weakness:

RABOS system (not included) can be little tricky to set up if you're not very technical, a little over priced

I was using the ONKYO 575x , but upgraded to the 676 due to lack of signal going to the sub. After I did that I got plenty of bass reproduction. I think that this sub can get pretty loud and low in frequencys, considering that it's only a ten inch driver. For an extra $40 you can purchase the RABOS system, which is a bass optimization kit. It can be dificult how to use though if you're not a technical person. Another drawback is that the sub is kinda pricy. Other than that though, I love this sub.
