I bought this subwoofer a few months ago to get some bottom end in my home theatre. I was suprised at a how good this little sub was and how well it balances in with my old Paradigm 5se's. This is a great add on to anyone with a moderate home theatre wanting to give some extra oompf without buying something that is overkill. I feel this fills a need niche in the market. This is definitly not for the high systems but for average home theatres. Definitly worth the $350 I paid for it.

Here's a subwoofer that doesn't qualify as a "sub" woofer. It is very peaky and not very deep. It appears to have "punch", but it's really a peaky mid/upper bass that makes it sound like that. There are a lot of better subs and this is one that should be ruled out from the get go. Sonically it's a 1, but it plays loudly enough to rate a 2.

I just got this subwoofer a few days ago and I am very satisfied with amount of bass it puts out. As my room is small, I didnt need a huge 10-18 inch subwoofer with a thousand watts. I got a great deal on this subwoofer, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs to fill in that low end void on a budget. I've had this subwoofer with Infinity 2002's for a year. While there are clearly better subs out there I'm very satisfied.

This sub has been around for ages,,its a bit pricy compared to others of the same power ratting ,but it does sound dam good.

This sub is great for small area like in the bedroom or a small hall way, but some times it also works great in the large room, this is the best sub at that price tag. The new model number for this sub is going to be BU-80 and BU-10 is also a new product both of them are great for Home Theater, Playing Musics and easy listening.

Found an open box special for $180 at circuit city and bought it. I am very pleased, although I haven't heard many other subs on the market. I have a small/meduim sized room and it certainly has enough power for what I use it for, which is mostly movies. The music I listen to doesn't require too much bass. All in all, a sub is a worthy investment and this seems to be a good starter. 4 stars based on price/performance

I replaced the woofer with an Infinity Beta dual voice coil woofer that has rubber surround and cast frame and it made a big difference in tightness and
accuracy (I compared it with my overture 1). Adding the cost of the Beta woofer,
it might be better to buy other brand of subs in the first place.

Count me as one satisfied customer...paired it with Infinity RS200.3's and I've been happy for years...

You people have to take in to account the price you're paying for this stuff.Spent one day comparing the BU-1 to the Energy EXL-S8 sub with my Take 5 system.

The Infinity was a little bit clearer in the high range (100-140 Hz) on music.

The Energy went lower on test tone at 90 db. Infinity falls rapidly at 42-45 Hz. The Energy falls at 38-40 Hz. N0 29 Hz as they claim. The drop off is not as steep with the Energy.

Peaks on movies were 104-108 db with the Energy and 101-104 db with the Infinity.

I paid $169 for the BU-1 delivered and $238 after tax for the Energy.

The performance justifies the price for both these subs. Something to keep in mind the these are very small subs. They are not made to rock the house. Thet are made to give satellites some bottom and not take up room doing it.
