Strength:
Extremely deep tight bass. Clean sound.
Weakness:
None... Great SUB, great choice!!! Been a Boston Acoustics fan, and upgrading from the System 9000, found out that this Sub kicks ass. Glad I bought it. I highly recomend it. Next step... System 10K Speakers. Can't wait... The Sub handles both music and movies very well, filling the room with a deep and tight bass. Impressive 300W !!! |

Strength:
Deep Tight Bass, Volume Control in Front of the Sub, Excellent response for both Music and Movies I can’t say enough about this subwoofer. The bass response is incredible! The PV 800 is very musical and blends perfectly with all types of music. If your looking for a boomy sub this is not the sub for you. The bass response is deep and tight. Strength:
300 Watts provide a HUGE sound. This sub will blow you away.
Weakness:
A little boomy when compared to other subs in its price range. This sub is definately the best sub in its price range. I would have bought the energy, but I got a great deal on the Boston. The speaker location (at the bottom of the sub) concerned me at first from the negative things I heard from other people. However, I let me ears be the judge and although it is not the tightest sub, it is loud! The boomyness isn't BAD, I am being picky, it is just noticable - the sound isn't as tight at start and end points of sound. It is damn good, if you can get one for under $600 I HIGHLY recomend it. Similar Products Used: I listed to top of the line Energy, Polk, Paradyme (too expensive), and Bose before purchasing. |

Strength:
Fills the room well with nice bass
Weakness:
Can be a bit boomy with classical music Overall I am pleased with this sub. It has nice control, and sounds much, much better since I upgraded cabling (Audioquest connectors). I would have to say I would purchase it again given the fairly low price (I got mine for $550). Altough it can be a bit boomy on kettle drum strikes from classical music. Overall, a fairly musical piece. Similar Products Used: Klipsch KSW-12 |

Strength:
Efficient, powerful design; small footprint; true 20Hz response; good manual; made in USA.
Weakness:
No high-pass network. I'm very pleased with this sub, although I would have gladly paid $150 more for high-pass filtering. Sounds sweet with Boston's System 10K. Similar Products Used: Yamaha YST-150 |

Strength:
Deep, Strong Bass, Tight and accurate
Weakness:
None After having the B&W, I found it possessed a rattle that appeared in deep bass passages. After returning it I picked up the PV800 by boston accoutics. Phenominal performance. The windows now rattle outside my home when the bass comes in. When a helicopter lands in the movie it lands at my home as well. Super performance. Nice to have the volume in the front where fine adjustments can be made without having to move the unit. I can't say anything bad about this product. Currently using a older Onkyo A-RV401 amp to pass the sound to the sub's internal crossover. Excellence in value and in performance. Similar Products Used: B&W 8" sub |

Strength:
tight deep bass; excellent for movies and music
Weakness:
none I am using this sub with the BA system 10K. Once the cross over is properly adjusted, the system rocks for both music and movies. When the subway roars thru in the Jackal, you feel like it is passing right thru your room. This sub is much more powerful than others in its price range.
