Strength:

Great low frequency sound for its price, auto on/off is great, cross over control.

Weakness:

None that i could think of.

I have been searching for a subwoofer to match my aiwa z-m9300x component and i have found the ts-w60 form a local store here. The first thing that attracts me most is the price, for the unit with its power of 150W, it is really worth it. Aside from its price, this sub also have some nice feature like crossover control, auto on/off, and dual input type, either via rca or line input form left and right speakers. When i first bought it, i was really excited to test how will it blend with my aiwa component. With some testing ang changing set-up, i finally get what i really wanted. The sub is really good in producing the low frequencies especially in movies as well as in music as well. I dont know why some users complains about this unit, but in my case, i havent experience the problems that they have mentioned. Of course you cant expect a 20mm driver sub to produce something like a sub with 12" driver. it does make a difference but somehow, for a small room, this sub is really worth it.

Strength:

Loud, small & compact

Weakness:

extremely loud in certain areas of the room, but in other places it can barely be heard (might be due to my placement)

I dont see why people give this a bad review either. i bought the unit refurbished on ebay for $40. i have it in a fairly large bedroom under a desk, and it works great, especially when its hooked to a good amp. delivers some nice extra punch.

Strength:

Excellent controls, good low bass sound.

Weakness:

None that i could think of.

I purchased it a week ago and it is really worth it. I used it with my aiwa z-d930M component system. The crossover control is really good for setting the frequency in which i want the sub to kick in. hm i just wonder why some people give a not so good review with this product in which in fact, this product is really worth the penny. Maybe they just dont know how to configure it in-order to maximize the power of the sub-woofer.

Auto Shut-Off

Weakness:

Auto Shut-Off

I have just started using this product but am very impressed with the sound so far. I must say that I purchased it before reviewing it though or I may have passed on it. I am pleased and glad I didn't pass though. The only gripe I have is the auto shut-off shuts the unit off if it doesn't receive a signal and while listening late at night it is always shutting itself off. This is over-rideable though and I guess I am just to lazy to have to shut it off seperately from the remote. Also I guess I don't need that booming sound when the house is asleep. I felt the previous review was a bit harsh on a totally acceptable product.

Strength:

Solid bass for the money

Weakness:

Nothing obvious, again for the money

Basic SW--my first. Easy hookup/connection, no troubles like those described by an earlier reviewer. Solid bass, major contributor to a basic home theater setup (5.1). At the Circuit City price ($140), hard to go wrong. I'd love a Velodyne, but...

Strength:

Great sound for the money! Phase, Volume and Freq. Response controls.

Weakness:

Would like to see controls on front or top of unit. Rear access is difficult.

Unit delivers great sound for the money! Smooth solid bass sound. Like the fact that you can adjust the phase, volume and freq. response of the unit to fit your room and individual listening taste. Provides me with a lot of bass without breaking my budget! Great product.

Strength:

Power, controls, price

Weakness:

Controls aren't easily reachable on back

I think the people who have written reviews slamming this sub are flat wrong, I think they are individual defects. This sub does exactly what it was designed to do. It adds that extra oomph you need with a minisystem. It's not designed to fill a ballroom. However this sub will shake the whole house if you want, but the great controls allow you to refine the bass just how you like it. Lets face it this is one of the cheapest and best deals out there for a powered sub, its not a velodyne but its also not $1000+. This sub is great for minisystems and smaller rooms that need that rumble in a movie or a solid bump during music.

This subwoofer has a good amount of power in its amp, 120w, for a relatively low price, 129.99 from J and R, but that value is deminished by the inability of this sub to perform at higher volumes. When i turned my receiver, a technics Sa-AX720, past about a quarter of the way, a rattling was heard coming from the sub. When i turned my main speakers off to localize it, i found that it was the prt rattling against the wood it was attached to. This sub is poorly designed and i would not recomend it to anyone who likes a sub that "bumps".

Strength:

The aiwa subs are weak to say the least. Steer clear of these things, your floor speakers will pump out enough bass to overshadow anything the sub throws.

Weakness:

Everything: weak, only one-directional, plus Aiwa overrates all their stuff. 120Watts??? yeah right...how do they compute these numbers?
Grab the sony sa-wm40 I tried it out at bestbuy and it really bangs and you can get it for $150 or so on the net.

I have a similair styled Aiwa, mine is a "150Watt" according to Aiwa...but it is NOT that powerful, it only consumes 70watts, how is it a 150Watt sub?

Strength:

High quality bass, great value

Weakness:

My Auto Power doesn't always work right away

This product is a great value. I have had mine for about 8 months and have enjoyed it since day one. My system and it work perfectly together. I recommend it along with other Aiwa products, they are good values.
