Strength:

Cheap; easy installation. OK bass for IW.

Weakness:

Shrill, unhappy-sounding when the volume goes up. If I could give them 1.5 stars, I would have.

These are not impressive. The bass is not too bad for an IW, but the midrange is colored and the high frequencies are tinny and shrill. OK for voice and newscasts, may be ok for background rock. Nearly unlistenable for classical. They sound better around corners, which mutes the out of control tweeters a bit. They lose detail quickly when the volume is turned down, but with these speakers that can be a help. In fairness, these haven't had much break in time, but I don't think that's much of an issue. They are also in an untreated bare room, and I'm hoping adding a lot of furniture and cloth will sop up some of the excessive harshness. Try before you buy. The price is right and for certain listening you'll get a bargain, but for serious listening or even HT they are the sort of speaker you'll keep wanting to turn down.

Audiosource in ceiling speakers, which I use for paging and some music, and actually sound somewhat better.
