None

I bought these on the internet for $39 apiece and I got two merak mt66 ($29 a piece) for the surrounds. I got these two days ago and I am currently breaking them in along with the mt66's. I got these because of the price. I got the for under 40 and on amazon they are selling for 400-450 for a pair so I couldnt pass it up. I bought a pioneer thx ultra reciever with 5X100 watts power for 300 plus shipping. The only thing I am going to use from my old speakers is my sub. I also got the emerald center channel for around 50. So I will have one bad ass system for under $700 thats un heard of. My friends are jealous knowing what I got at such a low price. The em95's are a very solid speaker and if you can get them for what I did buy them its a deal.

Strength:

Best sounding speaker i have ever heard

Weakness:

need to get a decent amp :/

this is my first proper home threate speakers
im into car audio, so i know wat quality sound should be like. As i work at a place whwre wwe listen to speakers all day.
when i saw these speakers in the shop, i thought, they werent very powerful, by the looks of them. Compraed to the others they had there.
But when i heard them, i smiled, clear as midrange, very good highs, as for bass, hell im getting a sub later on anyway, but i prefer tight bass, which these babies had. Absolute crystal clear sound to my likings.
and its only running off my old mini system amp :P
soon to buy an amp, any suggestions?

Strength:

Solid design and finish, well balance between bass and treble. Reasonalbe price for what you get.

Weakness:

Bass sound is not every tight, I have to use equalizer to adjust it.

This speaker was designed with a distinctly art-deco feel, s from the new Emerald range are built into a real wood cabinet, producing a rich, warm sound, steeped in emotion.

Watch out for the shipping weight on Ubid.com, the web page stated that each item weighs approximately 79 lbs. But the actual weight when I received (as well as FedEx) is only 31 pounds each. I had to ask for the reimburse.

Strength:

Rosewood veneer finish is high gloss and high quality.
Bass is very ample. Highs are clear and very transparent. Overall quality is "surprisingly good"!

Weakness:

This is a two-way speaker and thus it does not have a separate mid-range driver. Nevertheless, the overall sound quality is balanced not harsh. The bass is warm without being muddy.

This is a fine speaker! I would be amenable to paying up to
$350 for a pair of these floorstanding Emerald 95's. UBid has been in business four years. They are continuing to upgrade their computers, wharehousing, and overall customer
support. I experienced some aggravation with this purchase
transaction so they cut my shipping charge in half. It was delayed by 2 weeks but did arrive in excellent condition.
My boxes stated these Emerald's are "an improved Mark II
version". Has anyone else gotten this edition of the Emerald
95 ?? Anyway, I plugged them into my Sansui RZ9500 using the
Source Direct option and -- wow!! Beautiful sound from towers about 34" tall. Very good resolution. Undistorted,
punchy, and excellent clarity throughout the audible spectrum. No complaints, whatsoever! My receiver is 100 watts RMS and my CD player is a Sony ES unit -- both components are at least 8 years old and probably older. No
problem. The Emeralds are stunning on jazz and a real joy on
all instrumental music. Construction quality is well above average.

Seriously, these speakers rate a JD Power award for
excellence! If you can buy them on UBid.com for up to $350
a pair -- don't hesitate. Buy them! Surprisingly good! Wharfedale speakers carry a 3 year warranty. These Emeralds are also bi-wireable. This is not the mass merchandise typically found in the well known department stores. It's substantially better!

Strength:

Very well balanced and free from any nasties. Gorgeous design and finish.

Weakness:

Keep that bass port from the rear wall! Can't go stupidly loud only very very loud. Vunerable fixings for grille cloth. Treat them with care.

I bought these speakers purely on account of a fantastic deal on them at Richer Sounds. I wanted a pair of floorstanders as I was unhappy with the capabilities of a pair of Advent speakers my wife had bought with her from the States. I own also a small pair of Mission 780's which are good speakers but limited in scale. I hooked the speakers to my pair of RB850's and must admit to being gobsmacked. The sense of authority and the sheer detail was immediate and surprising. For £119.95 I knew that I had finally found the ultimate hi fi bargain. I could not find any reviews anywhere so I have had to trust my own judgement. They are very clear and detailed and essentially neutral but in an domestic hifi way. You would not mistake them for studio monitors!
