Strength:

sublime midrange, built-quality is just superb, very natural sound, never harsh

Weakness:

treble extension, but is good anyway looking at the price

Beautiful speakers, they are a piece of art, they look great in my living-room. The sound is superb, you can push the potenciometer and never have a harmful or harsh sound. The detail and the soundstage are breath-taking and the instrument definition is exellent. The bass goes deep enough for my taste( too bassy is harmful for my ears ), the voices are good, very smooth, but maybe this is the weak part of this babes, they don´t have a top-line tweeter but maybe a more defined one could bring some harsness to the sound...
As they have a good sensibility( 91dB )you don´t need a very powerful amp, my Cambridge Audio A3( 35W )is good enough and it´s a wonderful conection with Triangle( but also Atoll, Myriad, Arcam... ).
I got them 500$ because of a promotion, in France they normally cost 4000F( about700$ ), a killer price anyway!

Strength:

Good bass extention, definition. Warm midrange. Efficient.

Weakness:

Might be harsh with overly-bright electronics

Picked these over a pair of JMLab floorstanders, I felt that the Triangles had much better bass response and very smooth midrange. Listening to a trumpet or piano is especially enjoyable, and bass notes are clearly defined.

My Triangles are currently driven by a Jolida JD302B tube integrated. Source is a cheapo Pioneer DVD running into an MSB Link DAC.

Lately I've had the urge to upgrade, but I think I'm going to look at my source and amplification before swapping speakers.

Strength:

Openness, WONDERFUL midrange, Soundstage, Dynamic, VERY efficient, Easy to listen to at ALL volumes, Detailed

Weakness:

Lack of ultimate treble and bass extension(it IS only a 1K$ speaker), Limited dealer network

I lived with my Acoustat's for 11 years. Having electrostatic panels was a wonderful experience, transparency, quickness, no boxiness. I was prepared to make sacrifices because ultimately they were very difficult to live with and they were incredibly ugly.
I made NO sacrifices and I do NOT miss them.
I had read all of the wonderful reviews about the Triangles in all of the magazines but there was no where to hear them, so I commited the BIG sin, I ordered them unheard. Out of the box I was happy with the purchase but could identify flaws (limited dynamics, a hole in the lower midbass/upper bass region). These speakers do require a great deal of patience to get them burned in. I have had mine for about 5 months and the magic has appeared. The bass is all there, it doesn't shake the walls like my Acoustats did but they are much tighter and detailed. Detail is an adjective I could use endlessly, I am hearing layers and depth that were only hinted at in my home, it is so easy to get lost in the music. My electostatics might have been transparent but these Triangles are just as quick an SOO much more open, the pull off the ol' disappearing act very well. I find myself being tremendously tired at work because I keep putting on disc after disc and staying up way too late. My Triangles are so easy to listen to even at very quite volumes and they are so easy to dive that I find my self with WAY more amplifier than I need. The biggest assets are the soundstaging(which extend well beyond the speakers on the right discs) and the wonderfully liquid midrange that captures the woody resonance of string insturments that I have never heard in my house before. I have bi-wired these after much experimenting, I might have lost a little detail in the bass, but it is more than made up for with the increase in openness. I have also decided that I prefer the grills on, I lose a little air with the grills on but everything just sounds a little more natural. The Triangles have there high end rolled off a tad but so were my Acoustats, and the Triangles extend much higher than the Acoustats, this is not a flaw in my mind because I hate sibalence. A friend of mine who has Spicas in his home came to listen and found these Zephyrs to be everthing that I was saying they were and had nothing but praise for them. I enthusiastically recommend them(and recommend calling Audio Odyssey, I got alot of help from them), but like I said be patient with them, break in is very slow and even more important.
