Strength:

Very stylish and cabinet construction is really solid. Price is good for this quality level.

Weakness:

Bi-wire...why bother? They couldn't possibly benefit from more power to the woofers and the crossover seems to effectively control the frequency cutoff to the tweeters.

These sound pretty good until you wallop them with real power. At low to mid volume levels, the sound is excellent and rich. When you try to drive them with real power (Yamaha AX-700U, 110W @ 0.003% THD), the bass disappears into a blur of distortion caused by the woofers' inability to recover from long excursion. Their power rating is grossly optimistic. So are a lot of other companies' similar tower speakers. They are best suited to mild mannered home theatre owners.

Strength:

Bass is this units big strength, upon first inspection the dual 5" drivers don't look like they mean buisness but they sure do turn alot of heads!, the cabinet is well designed and sleek, (the wife even likes em!)

Weakness:

The tweeters are easily damaged if you push them too hard, the cabinet is a little tipsy but nothing too serious, and to get the most out of them you have to biwire or biamp them.

Well I was in the market for some new speakers, that could produce excellent bass and the salesman pointed me to these and he put on that rave song from the movie blade and I was blown away at the bass that these put out! They almost can keep up with my 15" woofers in my pioneer G4o5K, I biwired them awhile back and they sounded even better! although I found the tweeters to blow easily, I had a party awhile back and this dumb idiot turned the dial to 4o clock while I was in the bathroom and pow my right tweeter was damaged, now it crackles when it hits certain sounds, overall though a great set of speakers at a damn great price

Strength:

Great bang for your buck

Weakness:

Paper cones?

I've got these speakers hooked up to my Sony STR-DE935 amp, in a bi-amp configuration. I was shocked to hear how much bass these speakers could put out, since they appear to be physically small. Apparently size really doesn't count! My bother has a pair of Yamaha speakers that sound similar but cost $700 as opposed to the $200 CDN I paid for the Technics. I'm no audio expert, but I know what I like to hear and these are it! I just wish someone could explain to me why the Sony manual states that if you're using A+B speakers (bi-amp'd) then you can't use sound fields. :(

Strength:

Great price, good looks

Weakness:

lacking a little in "brightness"

I thought I was seing things when I saw the price tag on these speakers ($77 each). There was nothing in the store in the same price range. I have a budget set-up(Toshiba 2109 DVD and Atlantic Technology 162PBM sub woofer and 154 series center and surrounds)and these speakers are just what I was looking for. They sound particularly good handling full orchestral scores such as the music for VERTIGO and WEST SIDE STORY. I am grateful that Panasonic makes a good product in this price range. If you are on a tight buget you can't go wrong with these speakers.

Strength:

tall,well constructed dual binding posts

Weakness:

power hungry

I bought these speakers for 2 main reasons...dual binding posts and their height..their size helps create an excellent soundstage...they have good bass due to the excellent box costruction..the woofs handle mid fair..and the tweets are only fair...i have them bi-wired and hope to bi-amp them soon..bi-amping would really open these babies up....you must remember these are not high-end speakers but for the price $139-pair..you could not find a better deal...they are a little power hungry but my 100-watt high current amp runs them fine..like i said bi-amping them would make them sound twice as good...kerry

Strength:

Attractive Cabinets take little space and accent room decor.

Weakness:

No floor spikes or stabilzers offered. Without care, these can tip over easy.

I was looking for a Very Nice sounding, Slender Loudspeaker
due to limited floor space. In my present system-Pro Logic,
I use 6 speakers. My Large Optimus sounded very good, after
my modifications, but 12 inch drivers take a big box.
I found these in Monkey Wards for $150 pr. I used my own CD's to audition them and moved them out to the center of the sales floor. They sounded very good. Bought 4.
2 for mains, 2 for center channel and I use my SB-CL90's for surrounds. Very good sounding system.
I think they will sound better if I buy a 5.1 system with High Current Amps.
I do agree that the high end could be a little brighter so
I'll add the Realistic Super Tweeter later.

Overall the sound is excellent.
Very good bass and the midrange is very natural.
Yea, you gotta tweak a knob or two but who has perfect rooms
that couple to any loudspeaker. Turn the bass and treble till the speakers match the room acoustics and these really
sparkle.

4 and 1/2 stars. Add a sub and a supertweeter.

Strength:

Bass, construction design, banana plugs, Bi-wire possibility

Weakness:

Voice realism
home theater use

For use in stereo mode, they're good. High input power
but low sensivity (86db/w/m)... Bass is not realism in cinema; use a subwoofer. Voice aren't clear at high levels
Big 3inches port for a loud and deep sound but no bass are audible at mid-low frequencies. Good crossover network
(3K). Small demansion
For the price, to use in stereo, no problem...

Strength:

Inexpensive, great bass, bi-wire, bannana plug

Weakness:

Light on the voice. Bad for music.

For the price, you can't beat these speakers. Tight bass, small footprint, bi-wiring, et etc.. Only wish, though, that Technics was more consistant in its speakers. Center channel available to Technics don't really match this pair's tweeter out.

Strength:

Inexpensive, great sound, nice highs, deep lows, pretty tight for ported!

Weakness:

Not much

AWSOME! I had heard these at a friends house and forgot to ask what kind they were, I just loved them. I saw some of these at a store and heard them and said these are awsome. I then asked the friend what they were. It was the same thing! Weird that in two conditions I thought the speakers were awsome and for $150! Great, nice feature with the dule amping option on the back. Can power it double!
Over all awsome!

Strength:

Amazing clarity in midrange and crispness in high end

Weakness:

stingy with base, power hungry

I've had these speakers for about a week and I can't believe
how good they are especially for the price. There are better speakers on the market than these but you will be paying 3-5 times more to equal there sound quality. The overall sound is very neutral and clean, very good clarity on midrange and good crisp high end without sounding brassy. Imaging is also very accurate. They are stingy with bass (no surprise there because of the 5" drivers) but the bass that you do here is tight and controlled. Very neutral very competent speaker!!
