Strength:

Such a small speaker, but so much quality for the money!

Weakness:

No bi-wiring option (not that i need that though...)

I went to the hifi-shop in my city. I wanted to ask them if they had some occassions left. I noticed these small speakers standing in front of the window from the shop. I asked what the price was and after the man told me that they were only fl.199,- (about $75) each I was surprised. I asked if I could listen to those small speakers. I compared them with some other speakers (but much more expensive ones!) and I just had to conclude that these speakers were incredible good for the price! Small, ok, but the bass is just so incredible for such a small speaker! Wow!
OK, the speakers are small and are not the best speakers on the world, but the price versus quality is excellent.

Fantastic small speaker that can win the battle with more expensive and larger speakers!

Thank you Tannoy!

Strength:

lots of bass, holographic imaging.cute looks, compact,
good build

Weakness:

only single-wiring, as What-hifi says, a little outshone
by the mx2 at only £30 more

I've had them for a few days now, and I think they starting
to sound at their best, although the mx3's still changed
after 4 months (!).
As I said below, they serve as rears on high stand, in the
rear corners of the room. Yesterday night I watched 'Heat',
and when the 747 passed by, one of my pictures fell of the
wall !
yes, thes give a lot more bass then expected, which is of course due to the fact that they are in the corners. I've put in the foam bungs to tame the booming a bit.
What I love about these things is that they are big enough to be set as 'large' on my da50es, so the mx3's get an easier task. With the Rel q50 in place in a couple of weeks, things will be even better (can't wait...).
Here we go : the good part is that they're really punchy, which is good for movies.I don't use them for music, as I play my music in stereo.they also tend to be less articulate then the mx3's, which makes them less pin-pointable. But with music, this is their only weakness. But as I said, I don't use'm for music.
The cabling is qed qudos original, which has a tendency to smooth things down a bit, so this might play a roll too.
Another good thing is that they're powerfull, you don't have to hesitate or be afraid when you turn up the volume. if you have a good amp, then they will open up the rear end of your room like few other directional speakers can.
If you want them for rears, go for it, if you want them for music in stereo, take the mx2's. you can biwire those, and they have a bigger driver, which means a lot in clarity and transparency. But in the setup I use them, they exceed my expectations, and believe me, they were high !
Cheers, enjoy your gear !

Strength:

Sweet sound, cute looks, good build

Weakness:

no bi-wiring

I finally got them in yesterday, and they will be doing the rear channels in my surround setup. They're mounted on high stands, which or both on a desk themselves.
Although they're still running in , there are a few things I can say right now. The build quality is wonderfull, it's amazing what such little money buys you these days.
I also like they're cute sexy looks. Being used to the tall slender look of my mx3 fronts, I couldn't do anything but smile when I first installed them.
If you have mx3's too, try mounting the front panel of the mx3's and then mounting the panel of the mx1's, it's just hilarious. You take an mx3, you boil-wash it for 10 hours, and what do you get ? Right, an mx1 !
No, serious, the still sound a little shut in right now, although they have already opened up quite a bit. I don't think they'll ever be as revealing as the mx3's, because of the single wiring. I'll give a more detailed and technical review when they are fully run in.
Cheers !
(three more weeks and I'll get the REL q50, I can't wait !)
