Strength:

Plenty of volume for a classroom or bus

Weakness:

sound crappy of course(cause of the size) distort when you turn bass up on discman

I got a pair of really cheap portable speakers at first hoping they would be loud enough to do the job but in most situations I couldn't hear the music. I took them back and got these and now I never have to get near the higher end of the volume. They'll make a lot of noise for the size. I rarely use them but when I do I find they're plenty good enough for what they were designed for. And they only take 4aa batteries. If you don't have batteries use them unamplified and they still are louder than the first ones I got.

Strength:

Low Distortion at High levels

Weakness:

Lacks Mega Bass

The problem nowadays is the portable speakers are so damn low that if you turned up the volume to max with the headphones in it would go louder than the speakers. Even with some amplified speakers.
Not these though! they go really loud for the size and are not gas guzzlers. all it needs is a mega bass selector and these would be a 5.0! i bought these of eBay used for 5.00 and let me tell you, i would've spent the retail of 29.99 for them there awesome!
