First, I must comment on two top notch individuals in the audio industry. Walter Liederman of Underwood HiFi and David Berman, president of Soliloquy, are both extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. Mr. Liederman went out of his way to assist with a UPS claim (even e-mailing info to me while he was vacationing in Hawaii) and Mr. Berman took time on a Sunday evening to meet me at Soliloquy in Raleigh to pick up my new loudspeakers, give me a factory tour and engage in pleasant conversation. Neither of these gentleman really treat you like a customer but more like a friend you've known for years. I can't say enough good things about Mr. Liederman and Mr. Berman. The loudspeakers are the 6.3i which I think differ from the 6.3 in cosmetics only. Others have commented about the very long break-in period but these speakers sounded quite good right out of the box. And yes, as time passed on they continued to sound better. After several hours the soundstage opened up tremendously, imaging improved and more and more detail entered the soundfield. Natural sounding, deep bass along with wonderful vocal reproduction and a smooth top end are major strengths of the Soliloquy 6.3i loudspeakers. Every thing just sounds right and with zero listening fatigue. Wonderfully crafted cabinets means they are a pleasure to look at as well as listen to. I can't find anything to fault these speakers for and with their level of performance I won't get the upgrade bug for a long, long time.

Similar Products Used:

Sound Dynamics RS9 (absolutely fantastic for the price). Tyler Acoustic Linbrook (another fantastic loudspeaker; close to the Soliloquy's but loses out in the bass department).

Strength:

Beautiful finishes , very well made ,huge sound for speakers with only 2 6.5 drivers and a double chambered silk dome tweeter , great tight bass down to 25 hertz , silky smooth mids and highs with great detail

Weakness:

Need room for these to play , not really a weakness . They are designed to be set out in the room if you like and give you a live performance !

I have written one review on these speakers and feel they need another. First of all I would like to thank David Berman (president of soliloquy) for helping me solve a problem with one of my 6.5 drivers. Without any question I was sent a new driver with in 24 hours of contacting him. Customer service couldn't be any better . There are alot of good speakers out there and these are one of them. Alot of us get hung up on the big names and all the bells and whistles . But what it really boils down to is sound nothing else really matters. Don't be fooled these are class act speakers without a doubt ! They need time to show themselves , breaking in is important 500 good hours to be exact ! If your patient you will be rewarded . Nonpatient people look else where, but if you like smooth liquid sound, look no further . These things make solid state amps sound tuby . With good gear matching they match speakers more than twice their price . The dynamics of these speakers still have me scratching my head . Pianos sound like pianos , I was talking to a good friend of mine on the phone who lives 700 miles from me. He ask me if I had bought a piano because it sounded to like somebody was playing it in the room . I explained to him that it was my Soliloquy 6.3s along with my mcintosh amp and quad cd-p he was amazed and had a hard time believing me . He is coming down just to check them out ! I haven't been able to bottom these out , believe me I have tried they will rattle your home if you want them to . They are great with movies and no sub is needed ! I can tell the designer of these speaker is a jazz musician and knows what he is doing .
