My Rogers pm510's are matched to an Accuphase C200x pre amp and P300x amp. The Rogers deliver the cleanest, most transparent sound all across the spectrum. They've been in perfect condition for years. Easily some of the best monitors from the old vintage stuff. Coupled with the Accuphase gear this is probably the best system I've built.

I have used a wide range of speakers but at the end of the day, nothing can take the place of cubic inches. In other words, the bigger the speakers, the better the sound or the more complete the sound because they go deep down into the lower bass region. I bought a pair of Rogers Studio 2a two and a half years ago for RM7,000. Not exactly expensive compare to a lot of the speakers nowadays. The same speakers were selling for USD4,000 per pair in the States and because it is a slow moving item, the local distributor sold them to me cheap. The speakers were also slightly scratched. For your information, the size is quite close to the size of a washing machine … if anyone wonders why they are not selling!
The Studio 2a has been an excellent pair of speakers. I have compared them to Mordaunt Short 860, EPOS 25, KEF 105II, Rogers 9, Spendor SP100, Spendor S1/2 and many others. Nothing comes close to the scale and neutrality of the Studio 2a. Bearing in mind that the speakers are derivatives of the studio-use PM510, which is probably more than 10 years old, the speakers sound excellent even by today's standard. Although they do not possess the resolution power/transient speed/imaging capabilities of a Wilson, it nonetheless sounded very musical. The midrange 'as per the trademark of Rogers' has been the best that I have come across. The frequency range is also very coherent throughout. The way these speakers relay music without the obtrusiveness of many of the new generation speakers keep you listening for longer period of time. Each note also seems to last longer and hence, better fleshed out adding to your enjoyment of the flow of the music.

My system now comprises Micromega 2.1/Duo BS, Quad 66/606II and the Rogers Studio 2a. The sound is devoid of sibilance; and the tonal balance is neutral and free from glare. The system is a good antidote to the CD-format which has proven to be 'harsh, clinical and bright' in many instances. My listening now is all pleasure but minus the fatigue, which is very unlike most of my previous systems. I would award five stars to these excellent speakers which I will sadly miss if it goes out of production.
