Strength:

transparency, bass, very natural sounding, fast, value.

Weakness:

bulky

I got lots of speakers that comes and go in my house, the latest one that just got sold was the Dynaudio 1.3MKII which used to be my favorite in the $2000-$3000 range. I compared the Dynaudio 1.3MKII and the Revel M20 side by side, the M20's is more transparent, more defined faster bass and most of all more natural sounding. Don't get me wrong, The Dynaudio is a very fine natural sounding speakers, it's just that the Revel is very natural sounding that it makes the Dynaudio 1.3's a little bit colored, that's how accurate the M20's are. Go listen for yourself.

Strength:

Very transparent window into the recording. Ultimate detail without being "over-analytical". Excellent image and soundstage. Awesome deep/detailed bass for a mini-monitor - rivals some full-range speakers. Build quality is superb! It is wise to use the matching stands that bolt to the bottom of the speaker - you can place blu-tack or some other de-coupling compound between the stand and speaker base for even better performance. The stands are actually very good for the price!

Weakness:

If there are any - I cannot find them.

I was astounded when I first "fired up" these great monitors. The immense detail and soundstage was spooky in its realism! And when I heard the bass - I was searching for the subwoofer - the M20's bass is that good! Throw in great build-quality (1" MDF, 40 lbs. each), world-class drivers and crossover for $2K and you have to think that this is that magical "point of diminishing returns" where performance vs. dollars spent decreases significantly! This is truly a product which will bring you closer to the musical truth at a "real-world" price!

Break in time

First of all I have been a geek about this stuff for years.
I have graduated up with my equiptment also for years, and I am now using an Adcom GCD750 cd player, Acurus Preamp, and a NAD 2700 Power amp. Over tthe last few months I sold my Mirage bipoles and bought a used pair of JM Lab Daline 3.1 from a local hi end shop. I was blown away with the difrence in depth and stageing. I would still own the if I hadent been for the JM's volume limitations.A friend at the same shop told me to listen to these "orignal looking", speakers from Madrigal. Thats what caught my atention. The same company that builds Mark Levinson is now in the speaker buisness.WOW!! Any way I herd trac 10 on Madana's Ray OF Light cd and home I went with them. They are the most dynamic speaker I had ever demo'd in any where near this price. There are too many things good to say about these little monitors to type about, But if you buy a pair be dont even listen to the first 24 hours you will want to take them back. I have only had my pair for about 2 nonths and my system is always on at a moderate volume. When we leave the house I turn it up to realistic volume levels and let it play. Dont be fooled by the 6.5 inch driver if you have a good amp you can achive concert volume at will.
Great job Madrigal again. And thanks for makeing a speaker in my price range.
