I still have a pair of these that I bought 15 years ago and they are an outstanding crystal clear sounding cabinet with even frequency response. Side by side with several other cabinets, these by far sounded the best as far as fidelity is concerned. I'm only pushing 160W per side with a small Yorkville mixer amp and I've never had anyone tell me it's not loud enough! I have used these for countless DJ gigs. I wish I could buy a second pair of them but I can't find them anywhere!

Strength:

They have a very good power handling. they look great and sound good. They might not be Mackie or Meyer, but you can depend on them night after night after night. They take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. I have used these for about three years four times a week all year long. Sometimes we play fairs that are 15 days long and loan our sound sytem to other acts, so these speakers are on ALL day long 24/7 and they perform. We have been all over Mexico, where the power often fluctuates and worked under harsh conditions. We have heard...and seen horror stories regarding other speakers that are more expensive....won't say names...that are the new kids on the block and they perfom well....for about about a month or so, and then they start breaking down. If I was stranded on a desert Island, I would take these with me LOL.

Weakness:

The only weakness I can think of is that they are HEAVEY, and the rubber feet at the botton have come off, but given the circumstances that they are exposed to under our schedule, I guess that's nothing.

I purchased a pair of these a couple of years ago, based upon my past experience using Peavey, and once again they proved to be a good purchase. I perform with my wife. We have three keyboards, drum machine, guitar, and we both sing. We also have a Cerwin-Vega 15" Sub woofer powered by a Crown power amp. We have performed outdoor shows and have been asked to turn it down. Sometimes we don't even need the sub because these puppies sound GOOD. Trust me, if you buy this p;roduct, you will not be dissapointed. I rely on these speakers for my bread and butter and they have not failed me. I perform three or four times a week every week all year long and I can tell you that I take these speakers for granted because I know that when I push the ON button they will be there, ever the workhorse they are.

Customer Service

I't really funny....because I have NEVER.....Had to call them for anything. Because I haven't had a problem with anything Peavey. I have called them for techinical info, and the few times I have called they were very friendly, polite and very patient and they certainly know their stuff/

Similar Products Used:

Never owned anyting but Peavey. Speakers, power amps, powered and unpowered mixers, mics,EQs. Being a musician for over 40 years, I have tried all the other brands...bar none... but for value and roadworthiness I trust peavy. I make my living as a musician, and I need equipment that performs night after night after night sometimes under harsh conditioins, and Peavey IS the workingman's choice.
