I bought those cause the ADP370s were a big too pricey for my taste at the time of purchase.

I couldn't have imagined that for i would get such a good speaker for so little money ... this speaker could ( is made for) be my fronts !!

if the price is right , you won't regret your decision.

Taking into consideration the price...None so far.

Mini Monitor Speakers are used as Fronts for Home Theatre System. I use my system for about 75% HT and 25% music. The Mini Monitors sound very good performing either role. My HT system is as follows:

- Toshiba: SD4700 DVD player ( $212.00 www.shopsunshine.com )
- Yamaha: HTR-5460 receiver ( $325.00 www.shopsunshine.com)
- Fronts: Paradigm Mini Monitors ( $280.00 AVIO Troy, MI )
- Center: Paradigm CC170 ( $160.00 AVIO Troy, MI )
- Subwoofer: Paradigm PDR10 ( $280.00 AVIO Troy, MI )
- Rears: Definitive Technologies BP1.2X ( $295.00 The Listening Room, Saginaw, MI )

Great movies to test the Full range of sound on an HT system are battle sequences in Pearl Harbor, and Pod Racing from Star Wars Phantom menace. Happy Listening!!!!

Weakness:

For the price nothing, Just if your receiver is cheap they won't reach there full audiophile sound.

Good clear highs that seem airy and not bright. This speaker has great depth and highth which makes it seem like your ceiling is higher then what it is. Use good interconnects and big guage speaker wire to help them shine.Place them far out from the walls to help them open up. They match perfect with my sub set at about 80hz crossover giving these speakers more sonic bass depth not just bass boom. It took about a month to break-in, which sounds more open and can be played louder without resisting the power handling. Its hard to find the best sweet spot on them, but I am running a cheap pioneer receiver on them! All I can say is buy these and use the extra money to buy a good amp and cables and you will be amazed. I will soon upgrade to a Denon and I can't wait to hear these bad boys sing.

Excellent highs, mids and base (yes, they need to be broken in to be at their best)

Weakness:

These are without a doubt the best speakers out there for $300. I purchased a pair of mini monitors V.2, ADP 170 surrounds, and a CC 350 center channel. A Velodyne 120 subwoofer rounds out the system with a Denon AVR 1801 reciever. I have had this set up for one year and it kicks serious butt. Music, and DVD's are awsome sounding. I could have bought all Paredigm gear at the time but the Paradigm sub I wanted was not available. Do not let anyone fool you when you purchase speakers. Buy a matched set (front, rears, and center) from the same manufacturer. Paradigm is a great speaker for the price. Call Bill or Jeff at Domes in Chesapeake VA for honest advice.

Non for a bookshelf

This is a pretty short review, but it doesn't need to be long to get this point across. You can not buy a better bookshelf speaker for the same price as a pair of these speakers. In fact, you can't buy a speaker that even comes close. Believe me, I've looked. The highs are outstanding, the midrange is righ, the voice is realistic, and all aspects of the sound are very acurate. I love these speakers and you will too. Go buy a pair!!

Strength:

Dynamics, smooth highs, surprising bass for size

Weakness:

A bit midrangey with slight boxiness.

My problem is I wanted a good mid-fi home theater setup, but was getting impatient while saving money (I'm credit card debt free for the first time in 15 years, and I wasn't going to fall in that trap again [I'm also wife-free for the first time in 20 years, and not ready to fall into that trap again, either]). In desperation for a stereo, any stereo, I picked up a nice looking $200 Sony mini-system at Fry's. My plan was to upgrade piecemeal until I had the basic HT components and then move the mini-system to the bedroom. Well, I got it home and it sounded absolutely awful through the speakers (headphones were fine). So I decided to get the speakers I wanted, use it with the mini-system, and maybe that would suffice for a while.

I went to the store intending to get the Atoms ($180, cool!), since I had heard many good things about them. But in the store I was not that impressed with them; I thought they were kind of muddy with a pronounced midrange, plus there was a noticeable frequency gap when paired with a sub. The Titans sounded virtually the same. I moved up to the Minis next. Ahh, much better. The bass coming out of these little speakers is quite good, and it paired up very well with the PDR-8 sub. Clearer and more open sounding, with smooth highs. I love clear, high frequencies, but cannot stand the screetchy highs you hear in so many budget speakers. I also like dynamics in speakers, and these are really good in that regard. A friend has a large pair of DefTechs, and they're so laid-back and downright polite they're uninvolving.

Only two complaints, really. One is a very slight boxiness; they're not quite as open sounding as I would like. The other is a slightly pronounced midrange. I'm hoping that when I get the Denon 2802 receiver, which tend towards the bright side, it will offset the speaker's midrange somewhat. And it would be nice if they were a little more aesthetically pleasing.

Strength:

At this price point, it would be a great challenge to find a better sounding speaker.

Weakness:

The quality of these speakers is so high that you start improving the rest of your system to match them.

I traded my NHT Super Zeros and Super Center for these and the CC370 v2 Center Channel. Invested in decent quality (Synergistics)speaker cables in place of Monster speaker "wires." Still running Polk f/x300i surrounds as well as Polk PSW350 & PSW250 (behind couch)subs. The Denon AVR-1601 is a little underpowered but sufficient for the small space (condo) I have. With Panasonic RV-31 DVD player and Sony Wega KV27FS12 analog TV w/ component video cables this is a very price conscious system.
On recent, remastered releases of "The Band" (the Brown album & Music from Big Pink) stereo listening w/ just Mini Monitors and subs, reproduction of music from my younger days is truly a beatiful experience.
Bought "the Return of the Mummy" (Brendan Frasier(?) version), Dolby Digital score will make you wet your pants.
I hope my neighbors are understanding. I'm afraid to crank the master gain above -15.

Not sure yet. None that I have found and unless I expand my expectations beyond the boundaries, there may not be any. However, every product can be improved.

I have now been introduced to a new level of sound that I didn't know existed. The bar has been raised and now I'm afraid that I will want to continue to raise it. These speakers are fantastic-crisp and clear sound. You can't beat them for the money. I've coupled these together with a CC-270 center for my front panel and our home is now the movie theater of the block. I honestly didn't know there were so many sounds in our movies that we weren't hearing and so many nuances in music that we never heard. I love them and especially love the price.
