Strength:

pounds ass cheap broke my bandpass box cracked open my hatch on my explorer and also on my probe GT made my rear view mirror fall off of my explorer

Weakness:

made out of paper material damage to vehicle...

I bought two Orion XTR 3's in a bandpass box off of a friend about 3 and a half years ago for 280.00. They been through three cars now, and it has been my favorite sounding system ever. Pushing it, is a 300 watt JBL monoblock amp, bridged at 2 ohms pushing 300 watts per channel. The only problem, after 3 yrs of pumping bass, is that the subs destroyed the composite "pressed" wood in the bandpass breaking the screws through. I want to build a custom sealed box, but i need help with dimensions for the box, how much cubic feet do i need to get the max bass out of these subs? If anyone knows what the reccommended dimensions are, can you e-mail me with them? Thanx!! Mbarb15@yahoo.com

I have 4 XTR3 dvc 10" in a custom bandpass enclosure. I am pushing them with an orion HCCA 250(50x2@4ohms or 100x1 @4 ohms) but i'm running it at 1/2 ohm(800 watts). I have competed all over ohio and PA.I have reached over 150dB. That says alot for a 150$ speaker.

I love my Orion XTR3s i have two 15'inch duel voice coil subs. inclosed in a custom built box.completely filling the cargo space of a blazer. hooked up to a non-bridged 600watt amp. the XTR's hit hard enough to dry out your throat and make it hard to swallow. they tingle your nose and vibrate my side mirrors on the outside of the ryde.i have been told that you can hear em two blocks away. some people have said they dont like the orions, claiming their lows dont pound enough but i have found that the problem is air space. ask the company how much you should have and go a little bigger. If you want pounding hard bass go with the Orion XTR3's

Good sub. Loud, Hard hitting, but tight ass

i really like the Orion xtr3's. They are not the best sub that I have ever had, but they are far from the worst. If you do not have tons of money to invest in a stereo, but still want quality, and good sound, then Orion is the way to go.

Strength:

The orion XTR12D subs are a very good sub. I have 2 in a full sized car, and after a few enclosure experiments, the subs produce an enormous amount of bass peaking nice and low at about 50Hz.
In the correct enclosure, they will outdo a sub worth twice as much. Oh, and the specs given with the subs are totally wrong as the subs don't preform very well in these enclosures.

Weakness:

They dont have a very attractive look, in comparison with subs like MTX or Alpine.

The XTR is an amazing sub considering the fairly low cost it has.
The will play much louder in enclosures that are properly designed (Manufacturer specs are totally wrong).
The will probably play louder and clearer then a sub worth twice as much.
The best value for money sub around!!!!

I have tried JL W6 12's, people may not believe me, but the XTR's are better.
