these speakers are dope, if they had legs they'd kick some serious butt! they barely move and they are pretty loud.

The 45 to 20 000 Hz range is horrible. What this means is that the speker does not pick up the really high end and the really low end. In one song a made it went so low that the speakers just stopped picking up anything and started flopping around. There great if that's all you can buy but if you have a few extra bucks (like $50) then you can buy the Technics. There range if 35 to 45 000 hz which is very good for a speaker of that price. The gx 1600s are great if you want loud, big and relatively full sound but for a little more I'd pick the Technics

Range could go a little bit lower and higher, woofer magnet is small..

Overall good speakers. You will not find better speakers for the money. Although it has a 15 inch woofer (which pumps enough) the bass is not nearly as low and clear as a 15 inch woofer from Cerwin Vega or other manufacturers, but then again you can't expect the same quality for this money. The sound quality is good if not very good, so overall i think these are ok speakers.

A great speaker. Great bass, smooth sound. And a pretty good price, for a 15-inch, 250 watt speaker.

Bass that kicks you in the chest!!

You can not find a better speaker for the price. It's got Bass that kicks you in the chest as well as a very good horn tweater. The Optimus GX - 1600 competes with speakers twice it's price. Don't pay for the name, do yourself a favour and check these out. Their a cheap thrill!! I don't reccommend these speakers to anyone with a heart condition.

Although I have not owned them for very long I must say that they are some of the best sounding speakers I have heard in a while. As everyone else on this page has said, they have great bass and that horn tweeter really screams. Very good speaker!

Great Bass, Screaming highs, everything

Just for the record, I am the same Mark that submitted the first review on the Optimus GX-1600 further down on this page.
I was curious one day, so I decided to open up these speakers just to see the size of the magnets, etc. When I took the woofer out, I noticed that Optimus didn't put any kind of dampening inside the enclosure. So I decided to line the inside with standard fiberglass insulation. The change was quite significant, and I suggest doing this to anyone who owns or is planning to purchase these speakers. It took probably about 10 minutes or so to do, and was quite easy. Just be careful taking out the woofer. It is well worth it. But if you are thinking about getting these speakers, I HIGHLY recommend them even if you do not want to put dampening in them.
