Strength:

Superior construction and solid build. Excellent lows and warm and true mid and highs.

Weakness:

Not many if any, but I am in a large room so they could disperse the highs a little.

For the money it is hard to beat this speaker, with matching sub and center,(I had the rears) they make an excellent combo. The bass that comes from these speakers without the sub playing will vibrate the floor even when using the floor spikes. Also the voice out of the center matches perfectly and blends in with the main speakers very well. I am using a STR DA 555es sony Reciever, with a 200W audiosource amp on the sub. I can live with this setup for quite some time..

Strength:

Midrange - is outstanding, you have to hear them to believe.

Weakness:

none

I have these speakers for about 3 weeks and I love them,
Very clear! The tweeters reproduce the high frequency very gently.
I’m using Denon AVR-3801 with Center NHT and rear NHT SuperZero.
Klipsch 12 woofer. It sound great, The Denon deliver 120 RMS per channel at 6 ohm,
VT 1.4 are 6 ohm. So I’m getting an extra power. I am planning to add power amp but not sure what kind anyone have any suggestion please email me at Lenzar50@yahoo.com The buttom line is that I’m very pleased with those speakers.

Strength:

Please see my previous review

Weakness:

None so far. I am using Marantz SR8000 as AV/amp and they are excellent match

I am suprised to hear that the speakers cause magnetic distortion of the TV. I am pairing up my front NHT VT1.4 tower with Sony KV32XBR400 with a Center Speaker on top of the TV and I never have any problem. My two towers are each at two feet or less from the TV set and the center is right on top. My TV set is set at about 2feet above ground just above the level of the subwoofer. My suggetion is that the TV has to be at a level above the subwoofer of the tower speakers and two feet away is fine. I don't think this is a NHT speaker related problem but more of a setup problem.

Strength:

excellent quality, great sound ,audio-video switchable.contemporary styling yet unobtrusive to fit w/any decor

Weakness:

none, maybe could be a little warmer

after some time w/these speakers i wanted to post a follow up. i love em.after spending alot of listening time and upgrading my speaker wiring i can say i am hard pressed to say that i have heard anything better in this price range.
these speaker make full on in your face sound to the point of almost being too much . i have yet to hear anything quite as responsive as the nht line. tight impacting bass and crystal clear mid and high range.anyone looking to purchase a mid range system take a listen to these speaker and get a clean high end sound.

Strength:

sound,sound,sound, contemporary styling,well constructed.

Weakness:

not sure about the usefullness of audio/video mode drivers in rear of speaker.would rather have them in frt.w/no switch

i do not consider myself an audiophile, however being an avid music enthusiast for many years and wondering why there is not any reviews on this speaker i feeled compelled to submit one. after pondering the purchase of higher end speakers for a long time and wanting a good mix of music and theater sound i settled on the vt1.4 mains and three vs 1.4 for center and surround . i hooked them up to my marantz sr-5000 (previously driving 5 infinty,s)and after a little burn in time ,put the sound to them and was amazed .these speakers are awesome .sound i have not heard before is there.they took everything the 5000 put out and wanted more. went and bought an sr-19 marantz ,wired it in and i would be hard pressed to recommend buying spending nay more for an exc. set of speakers .cds, dss,and ,wow" dolby 5.1 sound is exceptional .running my signet sub of the preamp out-in and lowering crossover to point of no noticeable transition,a(around45-50hz)produces good sound and awesome soundstage on soundtracks.

Strength:

very accurate speakers, bring out the best or the worst of your equippment and source, very sleak outline, excellent for home audio and video.

Weakness:

the higher frequecy can be a bit too sharp but if you match it with a 'warmer' amplifier, it is not a big problem

I have done quite a bit of research before upgrading my speakers and AV receiver. I previouly owned an Onkyo integra intergrated amplifier with B&W speakers. I did not regret on my decision. The NHT VT1.4 is astounding. The two front speakers give a lot of depth to the music which I have not been able to appreciate before. The two subwoofers put out incredible bass though you still might need an extra one for movies but they are ample for all the music. I had no problem in positioning them to get the best audio result. The slight sharpness in the higher frequency hopefully may smoothen out once they are broken in and when I upgrade my Onkyo amp to Marantz SR8000 which has a warm tone. My children love the surround sound with the VS1.4 as center and rear speakers. The sleak look fits nicely into the room but don't be fooled by the size, the drivers are packed with muscles. It easily outperform a lot of monstrous looking speakers outthere.
