Bought my speakers from eBay for the tiny sum of 150 pounds. For this amount of money you get a lot of speaker.
Sound is clear and smooth, Hook them up to a good av receiver and you'll be deaf before you hit the top end. The only downside is the lack of bass at low levels, you would expect more clout from a speaker this size.
Best advice is to pop them in a good home cinema system and let a separate sub handle the bass, do this and it feels like your standing next to Russell Crowe fighting the gladiators with him.
Overall great speakers, great price, just lacks that bit of bass.
Modern speakers this size with better bass would easliy cost you £1000 or more.

Strength:

Fast Strong bass High peak. Very good tremble. Look nice.

Weakness:

I cant find any direct Weaknesses because I looked around for a while and fond these to be the best for that price.

I needed speakers for my computer and went on a speaker hunt and found these. Look really nice and have a perfect size that makes them fit right in. Good bass and clarity witch you only find in the 1000$ and up class speakers. I like them alot.

Strength:

Great tight bass response, crisp treble. Vocals & Home cinema prove stunning,

Weakness:

Need careful placement, and preferably a powerful amp!

These speakers are Big! You''ll need a big room, but these babies really do sing. Whilst they were a little bright out of the box, a couple of weeks later they were warming up nicely. Having tried with a variety of amps, they prove sympathetic to them all.

Strength:

Great clarity,seperation & detail

Weakness:

over bright

It's a real shame.
These could have been utterly amazing speakers.
The clarity is wonderful and seamless giving the impression of real instruments. You can hear everything. The sound is vibrant & clean. Too clean!! Where is the bass? These are big speakers with 3 units working in parallel for the bass.
( Another 1 of the same for the mid, and soft dome tweeter.)
So why do they lack warmth? Changing to my Tannoys & B&W's proves it's not the system. The treble is also just a touch too prominent. Up loud they sound great, but their failings show when you want quiet background music. With the volume down, the treble becomes prominent & intrusive. Clean but the sound lacks body.Very sad.Theyr'e so nearly wonderful, but they're going to have to go. I might try removing a bit of internal damping to try & increase bass output in a last attempt, but I think MS should have noticed these shortcomings. After all they are supposed to be Home Cinema speakers/Hi-Fi.We don't listen to music loud ALL the time you know!!

Strength:

Excellent bass extension with movies

Weakness:

Bass is too tight, and treble to bright

So, great expectations at £500, and with all those drivers you might expect a well engineered package that is both involving and well seperated. Well, this is not the case, at first the treble is a little rough and forward, and bass light, but you expect this to go after about 2-3 weeks, but well some of it has! The treble remains so prominent, sounding very cold, and uninvolving, you might expect the bass to make up for it, but again for a speaker of such proportions the bass is less than satisfactory, and imaging is a little poor. However, they do work well with movies, and I suppose that was what they were designed for. The £300 MS25I's sound a lot better,(and look nicer)my advice is look at something with a bit more all round ability.
