Pure unadulterated crap. Stereophile should be shot. Just unbelievable how they distort any piano that is unlucky enough to be played on them. The salesmoron just kept saying oooh thats a poor recording, several recordings later.....still shit. Poor bass, bad crossovers cheap drivers. What more could you want at this price. 3800 . one star, because there is not a lower alternative.

They're big and ugly

I've actually got the Performance 860s, not the 880s, but the difference is that the 880s have got 8inch, as opposed to 6 inch drivers on the 860s.
I'm biamping them with 2 Arcam 8ps, a ROtel 870bx preamp, Pioneer PRecision cd player. I'm using van den hul d102 phono leads and Nordost BLue heaven speaker wire. Can I say to the two idiots below that gave them 1 star reviews to just grow up. SOme of us do take hifi seriously, ya know. The 860s have a lovely mid range, seriously deep bass, but not at all ponderous and reproduce imaging and treble information meticulously thanks to their aluminium dome tweeters. Marvellous, if you can find a pair. They're about £2000
