Strength:

Clear, defined tweeter. Excellent midrange and tight, deep bass. Bi-wire terminals.

Weakness:

Cabinet cheap looking due to black paint on unfinished wood.

The M703 speakers arrived a few days after the M701s (see my M701 review). The M703 is an excellent speaker for the dollars spent. The high frequencies are clear and well defined. Comparing to the Klipsch 1.1 horn, I prefer the M703 high frequency audio. I can easily differentiate a stick vs a brush on a cymbal. And, the brush sounds right! The M703 midrange is very clear and well defined. (The M701 midrange is simular and at times I believe better). The M703 bass is tight and clear sounding. I would not describe the low frequencies as powerful, but very good. Produces all the output and frequency range I expected.
The soundstage is excellent and stabile. In fact, very impressive for a speaker in this price range. I can easily seperate the placement of vocals and instruments. I bought the speakers for $112 each and about $100 shipping and handling from www.ubid.com. I do not believe any speakers are available with the M703 sound quality in this price range. The M703 is a bargain, may compete with some speakers in the $800-1000 range. Audition the Mission M701!

Strength:

Clean, complete soundrange.

Weakness:

Non.

I bought the set just before Christmas: two 703s with a pair of 700s for the rear, a 70c2 centre channel and a 700as (special edition? only 70as on Mission's website) subwoofer. I've owned a pair of Mordant and Short before for the single reason, that I like quality music that is not necessarily loud. What a system this turned out to be! Excellent sound in all musical ranges. Powerful yet very clean base, solid, crystal clear midrange and treble. I power them with a Harman Kardon AVR 300 (I know that I should've gotten the 500 with Logic 7, but I rather put the extra money into a DVD player) and get an amazingly real sound reproduction. What a blast to watch and hear Saving Private Ryan's first 25 minutes!!!
Best buy for the money. Forget Polk or B&W! These are the one to get.

I just picked up a pair of these speakers for the beginning of a home system.
I compared them to many speakers in the same price range and out of what was available it cam down to these, the NHT super Ones, and the Pardigm mission 5s.

I didn't like the Paradigm's at all. they sounded like car audio. there was an almost tin like sound to them.

I loved the quality of the super 0nes. I would have bought them, except the don't put out enough bass on their own, and I could not afford a sub.

so the Mission 3's it was. They actually sound really nice, for real loud speakers. The differ from the missions 77 series stuff, there bigger meaner, and not for classical music.

I'm really happy with my purchase, i give them 4/5. (just cause I like the NHTs)

Strength:

British sound without too much veil. Very relaxing yet realistic.

Weakness:

Not accurate.

I decided to get this as a gift instead of the 702. As someone who strives for accuracy, I actually find them acceptable. Smooth enough for relaxing times but realistic enough not to be annoying. Build quality is excellent for the price. They are the perfect British speakers. 4 stars is the highest I would give for this design, so 3 stars is quite good. If you have extra cash though, get a hybrid ribbon from Newform Research.

Strength:

Bright, clear highs, alot of bass for woofer size

Weakness:

none

Just picked them up and they sound great. Got them hooked up to a Yamaha 595a. They put out real nice bass, and the high are clear. Sounded better tha $800 Polks. Good midrange sound for two-way speakers. I almost bough a pair of Klipsch 10.5 on clearance (floor models). The dealer then played the Missions. They had a way softer and fuller sound. Paired them with mission 700 for rears and I will soon acquire the matching center channel and sub. I am using a jbl center channel that now sounds like a clock radio when played with the 703's so I a shut it off and route the center signal to my missions. Great product overall. I give it 5 stars

Strength:

Sound

Weakness:

Read the story...

I bought these speakers 4 months ago and they were perfect(for me). But after someone(definitely not a friend of mine any more) hit the speaker so that it fell, there is a problem with it:
When I play Dire Straits Local Hero theme Wild Theme there is a resonance in the speaker which I can feel. The whole housing is fibrating for a very short time, but very clear. This only appears when I turn the amplifier loud.
Is this a reason to let my dealer take a look at the speaker, or is this problem not clear enough for a dealer to check the speakers?

Thanks a lot.
nb. Sorry, I know my english is realy bad.

Strength:

Bass great
midrange great
tweets superb

Weakness:

None as of yet, I'll keep ya posted

These speakers kick ass, quality for the dollar? I would have paid more for them. To all the none believers check your local retailer and compare these to anything in their price range or even more. I use them for home theater along with the 700 series for rear the c2 centre and the 700 asi 10" as the sub and wow get a great amp like a harman kardon or rotel and listen to these babys kick some serious butt.

These puppys get 5 stars all the way
