Strength:

They are definitely amazing. I've always favored Electrostatic Speakers. And, even though these are not. The could very well be the next best thing. The Motion Tweeter delivers an extended high end that never sounds overly bright or harsh. The mids are well represented with a smooth very intelligible quality. I can finally make out the vocals clearly. Something I've struggled with. The bass has a tight clean character to it. Although not as deep as I prefer, it is satisfactory with most source material. Not to worry, I am running a Velodyne sub-woofer which satisfies the need for extra Bass. The coolest thing is I'm able to run them using an Decware SET tube amp with not quite 3 watts per channel. They play plenty loud. This was an unexpected surprise! Happy happy! They are more efficient than I expected. I've also used my GAS Sumo, (The Nine) and also my Ampzilla. I've settled on using the SET amp. A very detailed combination. Sound stage and front to back depth is awesome!

Weakness:

Not having another octave of Bass for stand alone use is about all I can mention as a very minor negative. Hey, after-all that's what Sub-woofers are for, right?

This is quite an unusual speaker design, sort of triangular in nature, rather than the usual squareish column of most floor standing designs. But it works somehow to the Motion 12's advantage. First the highs. They stand out as being crisp and true due to the innovative folded tweeter design. The mid and bass are far more usual in nature. I've begun to hear sounds in often played CD's, that were never before present. Overall a great speaker, at an even better price.
