Strength:

good tight bass slam,+ most highs and mids are to die for considering the price.

Weakness:

a liitle recessed on some highs.

i know that ther are so many opinions. som are based on bias, and some are based on the appearances( after doing a lot of reading), and some are based on pride of ownership and personal prestigeetc. i would be a fool to try to explain what the differences in sounds really are. but i feel very strongly after reading that they can be more subtle than people would really care to admit.i heard a system in berkely, ca. it was 3-D in such a way that i was bummed when when i walked out of there.i got to thinking about on the way home that a krell is a liitle sterile on top and to some a little non-involving.i felt the same.it pays to be able to learn to listen to speakers and amps so you know what you eally like . i will still buy for prestige only i can be more aware of it now and work a little more on what i like instead.

i have litened to some very expensive speakers > b&w 801,with good bass slam. i thought they would blow these away but probably not.and others in the klipsch family. some old school and some newer.wow! i am impressed. i now have an aragon amp which i guess matches pretty well cuz i can turn it up and thx to the tactrix horn's efficiency the voices come out into the room along with guitar strings with such beautiful, crisp, smooth and with such a minimal of distortion. i have done some reading about horns and have found they are considered by some to one of the best in not just efficiency, but are very accurate in reproducing voices and certain instruments. and also they are not shy when it comes to many of the sounds it reproduces. in other words it comes right into the room.wow!

Strength:

great natural sound, very open and warm

Weakness:

tend to be a little shrill but this just may be the fact that they are playing so loud

Got these speakers a few weeks ago for home theatre and stereo listening and all i can say is WOW! When i demoed them at the store the first thing i heard was an eric clapton guitar solo and I was blown away, I could not only hear and feel him but reach out and touch him, It was incredible. The detail and imaging these produce are unbalivable. For the price the can not be beat.

Strength:

Just good clean sound...

Weakness:

none so far

Just had these speakers a couple of weeks but I have really been pleased with them... I bought them just for my rear speakers because of there size but liked them so well have moved them to the front. If i had to say anything bad about them it would only be that they don't hit the lowest hz's but not a problem... I am going for the kws12 very soon and the dvd should really rock then... i am using a kenwood VR 3080 receiver with them and it really doesn't matter if I turn them loud or low they always sound great.

Strength:

Warm, full sound for its size
Very efficient design; crankable

Weakness:

Weak in high frequency female vocal
Tend to experience fatigue after hours of playing

I first bought a pair of RF3s to upgrade my Synergy bookshelf HT system from Klipsch. But the RF3s overpowered center(SC1) and surround speakers(KSB1.1), so I had to return them and bought SF2s instead.

At first, I was sad because my old system couldn't take the RF3, which produces very very big sound. I felt I had made a very wrong decision in the first place to have Synergy speakers for my A/V system. Having spent more than six
months now, however, I find SF2s are very musical and warm, produce better, clearer sound than RF3s(although those who own RF3 may disagree). Yes, RF3 is louder, and more powerful than SF2, but I think the RF3 is rather harsh and lacking warmth.

SF2 has weaknesses, though. First, it tends to show a little fatigue after being driven for a few hours. To me, it sounds like being a little bit muffled or inaccurate in producing a very high note of female soprano's. However, after I replaced my inexpensive 2-year-old Pioneer receiver(VSX D608)with a new Denon AVR3801 receiver last week, the sound from SF2s has improved greatly. It was a surprise and I realized that the right matching (or upgrade) of power source is as important as the performance of speakers themselves. If you are considering to upgrade your speakers, be sure to check also if you're using the right receiver.

Some people say SF2 is weak compared to RF3, but for my listening room size(I live in a 2-bedroom apartment), I think the speaker is powerful enough and simply great to listen to a variety of music, especially rock and jazz.

Subwoofer is needed, from my standpoint, although SF2's bass reproduction is pretty powerful. I love these speakers and will keep them for a few years to come.

My music/HT system:

Denon AVR3801 receiver
Pioneer DV414 DVD player
Klipsch Synergy speakers
--SF2(main), SC1(center), four KSB1.1(surrounds for 7.1 decoding)

I'd like to talk with you who own Klipsch-based A/V system. Please send me an e-mail to: newspro2001@hotmail.com

Strength:

great sound,great imaging

Weakness:

no carpet spikes

well,i went to get a paradigm setup.they were out of the center, mains and rears.the guy would not budge on the price for the demos.i then asked to hear a klipsch set up consisting of sf-1,sc-1 and sb-1.sounded great and i decided to get that set.well they were out of stock on the sf-1.the guy said they were doing inventory and his boss approved the offer.he said he could give me the sf-2 for the price of the sf-1.well i listened to them and it was a no brainer.

im currently waiting for my svs sub but until i get it i am running the sf-2 large and they do very well.

for the money i think it would be very hard to find another speaker that preforms as well as theese.

Strength:

Size, Sound and Price

Weakness:

Feet on the speaker could be a little better

The speakers are very clean in sound, I am using them in my home theater system and they sound great. You will be surprised at how much range the speaker covers. They are very crisp and lively compared to many others I listened to on the marker. I am building out my system so if anyone has rears or sub for sale let me know.

Very pleased......

Strength:

Price, size, sound, magnetically shielded.

Weakness:

Nothing comes to mind.

I demoed these speakers about 6 months ago and decided that they were going to be included in my HTS. For some reason I kept putting off buying them ... well last month they were on sale $230 for the pair so now they are in my living room next to my SONY 43in RPTV. My previous set of fronts were not shielded so I wasn't able to place them where I wanted to, but not the case with these. I also picked up a set of SB-1's for use as surrounds for $115.
Here's what I got now
2 KLIPSCH sf-2's in front
2 KLIPSCH sb-1's surround
2 KLIPSCH ksw-10's 1 in front 1 in rear
1 (dammit) BOSE vsc-10 center
I'd have to say that the only weak point I have right now is the center channel, but the sf-1's and the ksw-10's do an incredibly good job of covering up the fact theat the vsc-10 has almost no low end capability (although the highs are VERY nice).
I'd have to say that the sf-2's though are the best purchase I've made, great speakers.

Strength:

very loud, clear sound, and nice build quality for the price.

Weakness:

the port could be a little better maybe

These are really great speakers, they're very loud, highly efficient and sound better than most speakers in the 4-900 dollar range. They also look very nice. The floating grills are a nice touch. the other thing I'm happy with is that I'll never have to worry about blowing them out, My recieveri is 100 watts, and the speakers are 100 watts RMS 400 watts peak. Also, I recomend ordering them from acousticsounddesign. They have great service, and if you mention them in your review you get free shipping next time you order!

Grill inserts

After my Boston Acoustics A70s bit the dust, ahead of me I had the arduous task of looking for new speakers. Everyone recommended Bose so off I went to buy a pair. They sounded good in the store but not at home, so back they went. I then went online to do some research. There were so many to choose from that I went bonkers. I did not want to spend more than 500-600 dollars. I called an upscale audio store in my area and they recommnended Kefs or Boston Acoustics but they were out of my price range. I went to the Wiz and the salesman recommended Klipsch SF-2. Klipsch? Never heard of them I said. He let me listen to them and I was sold. They made my Boston's sound inferior. The only thing I don't like are the floating grill's (I have cats). The highs are amazing and they are not too bassy. I immediately put in a DVD(Pearl Harbor) and I was hooked. I highly recommend them.
