Strength:
Can handle anything you throw at it.
Weakness:
Warning: I have spoken with Klipsch directly before I purchased mine and they do not honor warranties if purchased from an un-authorized dealer. I checked into this and there is NO AUTHORIZED ONLINE DEALERS-PERIOD. You might be able to save a couple hundred dollars purchasing online or ebay but they will not warranty them. Others weaknesses - None found - Period I bought these guys about 7 months and they rock, and as the old saying goes "If its too loud your too old" it'll make you feel old. Mine are powered by a Carver amp that pushes 600 watts to each, and these guys handle everything this amp can throw at them, with no distortion and full of clarity and bass. The horns are a little bright but they reproduce the sound great. Just make sure you break them in for about 72 hours of play time before you crank it up, which is what was recommended to me when I purchased them. I can't say enough about they towers and would happily purchase them again or another Klipsch product. |

Strength:
Amazing clarity, excellent bass. And you can go on and on with your little Bose speakers, but nothing looks more powerful than big impressive speakers, and these fit the bill.
Weakness:
Dangerously make you want to keep turning the volume up. Cheap grills, two pegs broke off, but the grill stays on ok. I bougt these speakers a little over a year ago, and have been in heaven ever since. I use them with the RC-7 center, RS-7 surrounds and my Denon 3805 reciever(7.1). I go to audio stores every now and then, and have yet to hear anything as good as these. The clarity is beyond description, I love the horn sound. Some say they are fatiguing, but if you've ever been to a live show with loud music, it's pretty fatiguing. They certainly aren't harsh sounding as some claim. To me they recreate what was recorded very accuratly. Even without a subwoofer, they create amazing bass by themselves. I couldn't live without them. I was going to get one of the lesser floor standing Klipsch Reference speakers, but knew I wouldn't be able to sleep so long as these were out there. Trust me, it's worth saving the extra $$$ for them, as these are speakers that will last a LOOOONG time. No matter how loud I play things, they never distort, and I've tried. Speaking of which, they are dangerous in that way. It seems the more you turn things up, especially music, the better it sounds. Not so with lesser speakers. With every other sound system I've ever had, you get them so loud, and it becomes unpleasent to listen to, not these things, they love volume. They add amazing depth to movies with good sound, and give them a huge theatrical sound, with a very wide soundfield. I've had many people over to watch something, and all of them have said my system sounds better than commercial theaters. To me, my sound is only rivaled by Imax theaters, others agree. |

Strength:
Clarity and power, not to mention good looks
Weakness:
cheap plastic feet that break I got a ridiculous deal for these new on ebay for $1100 in late 2003. I bought them along with the Klipsch RS-12 and a Denon 3801. A couple of suggestions with these speakers are to definitely pair them with enough power to really boost all of the clarity they're capable of. The pre-amp route some people recommend would probably be even better, but if you aren't going to give them at least 100 watts rms don't bother. Also, make sure you have a room that can handle them! I listen to a wide variety of music but am especially into the audio production end of things...and wow do these speakers show every little detail! It's pretty amazing, read other people's reviews too...you'll hear details in music/production you've never heard before, and maybe didn't WANT to hear! I love that aspect of these speakers, and paired with the Klipsch RS-12, I've never been able to turn these things past -15 (receiver goes to +20) without feeling like art was going to fall off of my walls. Let's just say that I definitely haven't made many friends with the neighbors after moving into this apartment. If you're looking for clarity combined with extreme sensitivity and volume and a very respectable price, this is the way to go. Look out though, "good deals" are going to be *very* hard to come by after Klipsch's filing of a recent lawsuit against unauthorized dealers! |

Clairitey. By wierable
Weakness:
nun that I can tell Best set of speakers I have ever herd. Great claritey and by wierable. The real Deal for those who listen to a wide varyitey of music as well as movies. These are fantastic at any volume. The compatition better look out for these ones. For those who just want head ake bass these would be a wast of money because they are much more capeabol then that. These hold full range at all volumes at an even balance. I have herd a lot less qualitey for a lot more money from some of the compotition. Similar Products Used: Nuaunce. Paradigm. |

Strength:
Outstanding clarity and definition, excellent bass response (though a good sub makes it ssoooooo real, at least in my case) Silky smooth and incredibly well defined midrange and high end, unbelievable soundstage. Fit and finish, nothing I have seen can match it in this price point.
Weakness:
Grille, be very careful putting it on as it does not come on from the factory, it's in a box in front of the drivers. A few weeks ago I was greeted by Ivan the terrible, He claimed the life of my precious klf-20's in my basement listening room. Never had water in my life down there but the near 12" of rain we had overcame the foundation. I was left "speakerless". I did a lot of research and checked axiom as well but wanted to stay with the tride and true horns, the klf's gave detail I cannot hear in others, I admit I was skeptical on the Rf-7's since I did not have a midrange driver. Well I did find my best Price at electronics Expo in Nj, it was the RF-7 I was after, I love Klipch horns and solid BIG build, only their flagship would do ( I admit, I really wanted the klipschorns but my budget isn't there yet). I decided to drive there, only a little over an hour from where I live. To sum up the buying experience it was nothing short of incredible, and I give them 5 stars on everything. Unpacking these giants is an experience in itself, and let me say that they are HEAVY, I did not have help either so I was on my own. They come in at around 5" taller than the klf's they replaced, and by my backstrain meter are heavier. Finish was typical Klipsch, Perfect! On to performance: As skeptical as I was about these speakers all my worries were laid to rest while listening to some favorites. Absolutely stunning vocals, very tight well defined bass (but not overwhelming) that goes fairly low and quick, but I also have the SVS to take care of the bottom end some. Strings were more defined as well, overall a signifigant impovement, not just slight but well noticable. I am still in amazement! The real killer aspect of these speakers were that they were not as forward and bright as the klf's, they made a huge difference in the room accoustics that was very pleasing, and did it without any loss of detail (gained a good bit)! Words might not truly describe what these speakers can do, you owe it to youself to listen to these and "music" played like it was being done for you, live! Similar Products Used: Klipsch KLF-20's. |

Long break-in, heavy,,, don't try the one man lift as I did. Your neighbors may complain. I purchased these speakers last year in hopes of upgrading from my (then) current JBL 4312B's. I window shopped up and down and then some (internet too). My price range was to keep my new speakers under 5K. 80 percent of my listening is via LP's on a very nice turntable. I was looking for a speaker that was accurate first and had good sensitivity. Out of the box these babies are a bit harsh. They are proud and will handle anything you throw at em. They will also let you know if you have any weaknesses in your system. I am so tickled with these speakers after a year++ I would recommend a good power cord and voltage input filter for your amplifier. "Monster Cable has decent input filter for about 200 bucks. Buy some decent interconnects as well. These babies will make you smile. Classical to Hardcore Rock. Clear and concise and if you want loud.. Well look at the figures,,,, figure out your amp.... they'll curl your toes. Strength:
Natural, clear, crisp sound Can handle high volumes without distoring Horns rule
Weakness:
The plastic feet are very cheap OMG! These speakers are the absolute best, and are well worth the money. One thing to keep in mind is that these speakers speak THE TRUTH. That is you will hear EXACTLY what was recorded on your cds. Every instrument, every vocal, and unfortunately for older cds every imperfection. I am rediscovering music that I’ve listened to for years simply because it sounds so much better on these babys. Also, they can handle VERY high volumes without distorting. These speakers also speak bibles of TRUTH about the components you have connected to them. Most people recommend a pre-amp/amp combo to match with these speakers. That’s a great idea I think, but for now I just have an old high end and natural sounding Yamaha receiver. Together they produce a very clean sound no distorted bass or harsh treble. The newer Yamaha receivers or any of the “home theater” receivers that you see at Best Buy or wherever may not sound as good with these speakers, if the components are low quality. The higher end your components are the better these speakers will sound. I have not found a better speaker for the money nor would I recommend cheaping out or stepping down to RF-3 or RF-5. THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE !!!!!!!!!! Similar Products Used: Infinity Pioneer |

Very Dynamic Keep Music seperated at high volumes As always with Klipsch - a great value
Weakness:
May need a powered sub if your a bass freak (I kinda am) Having gone from a pair of Klipsch Forte II's to the RF-7's (Forte's Stolen during a move) I have to say that Klipsch has come a long ways since I purchased my Forte's. I have them Paired with the RSW-15 and in my opinion it is almost a must to have a sub unless the accoustics of the room are just right. However, the RF-7's deliver a sound that will take you by surprise if you have never heard high quality music at considerable sound levels. I still cant believe how they hold together even at volumes that have "disturbing the peace" written all over them. The hardest thing to get used to is the fact that they will bring out the shortcomings of your components and even more so your music. Some of the CD's I used to enjoy now sound a little out-dated and I have really learned to appreciate a well recorded and mastered CD. Bass, mid bass (no bloating, whatsoever). The "you are there" sound. Dynamic peaks, and contrasts. Transparency/musicality.
Weakness:
grills Bass is even better with break-in. The mid bass is very good. The whole bass sound is so tight, that it just gets completely out of the way, yet is powerful, also. Wow!!! The sound is up there with the best: transparency, dynamics, richness, and the "u r there" feeling. Similar Products Used: many |

build quality, finish of wood, will play to concert levels with minimal power, and with a quality amp youll hear magic!!!
Weakness:
none this is the best speaker out there for under three grand, maybe even four grand. great speaker to use with moderate power tube amp and pre amp, people may have atnedancy to use this speaker with mid price electronics, these speakers will bring out the best in your equipment, and the worst if you do not pick your system properly, higher wattage lower current amps sound thin and brassy, this speaker needs a good tube setup moderate power high current, the mids and top end is as good as it gets, bass might be a tad weak for bass freaks but it does sound real and thats probably what your after, you can allways add a good sub later, voices and acoustic guitars keyboards have an allmost electrostatic feel but they have the slam when your looking for it the best of both worlds,no speaker is perfectyou allways give some to get some however for under 1800 dollars per pair that gives you alot of options in the amp and preamp dept,a heck of a value by any standards.
