Strength:

Excellent Bass and highs.

Weakness:

Little hiss when not listening to music/sound.

Absolutely a bargain at $250 for the set. They are indeed comparable to some home theatre systems. Once optimally positioned and levels are tweaked, these speakers will "Rock the House".... Promedia's come highly recommended!
I don't even want to get into how bad they wipe the floor with the Altecs I own....

Strength:

Level control, Bass control, highs

Weakness:

gimme more, more (j/k can't get much better than this)

Wooooooooweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

What can I say.

First of all, let me give mad props to Klispch. Great work guys, keep em coming just like this and we'll always support ya. Next time work on the center speaker and make the mid range by more outstanding espcially for acapellas.
The highs and tweeter effects and quality is superb, my Kenny Gs never sounded better, My hip hops are now hoping, my reggaes are now jammin, my dance is now thumping, my RnB now has me torn apart and the Jazz, oh bwoy.

For those of you who have NOT yet given yourselves the privelidge of owning a Pro Media at a $250 value (which cannot be beat), I only have 2 suggestions.
1) get it
2) get it QUICK.

I love em so much that I ordered another one through my local dealer so I can create an astounding full all sides surround sound in my apt., one woofer on the left and one on the right.

Beleive me, they're worth it, no questions asked.

Strength:

Strong bass response, crystal clear highs.

Weakness:

Displays the "faults" in many of my MP3's! (not really a weakness)

I want for nothing. After some experimenting it is apparent that speaker placement is important, in particular the subwoofer. I have a soundblaster live and I'm not hearing any of that "HISS" that so many people are talking about. Bottom line: These are serious speakers.... not for kids or beginners, they do take some setup to suite your taste. They certainly cannot be beat for the price.

Strength:

You can not get a Better 4 point Speaker System for the Computer! Nice compact but powerfull Sub.

Weakness:

Slight hiss in rear speakers. Easy fix by increasing volume to rear speakets to full with knob on front speaker. Then turn down rear levels in software.

I owned a pair of midiland 4100 S/2 Computer Speakers before the Promedias. The Midiland speakers only had two Satellite speakers not 4 like the Promedias. The bass on the Promedia speakers has increased power and sounds much cleaner. Also the highs and mid range are cleaner also.

If you have a Sound Blaster Live! or A Vortex 2 Sound card
you MUST buy these Speakers! They sound so great and are built so well you will not have to upgrade these speakers like you do the rest of your system every 2 years!

Strength:

Incredible sound in a small package.

Weakness:

Hiss.

There is not another set of speakers designed for the computer that can even come close to comparing. Great highs, great mid range, great bass. The bass is full and warm and if you turn it up you can feel it in your chest. Listening to classical is a joy as the mid and high range clearly define all the frequencies. Nothing gets muddled, everything comes through with great clarity. I gave my brother my MicroWorks and after a few days listening to music on my Promedias I went into his room and was amazed at how bad the MicroWorks sounded in comparison (I used to think they were great).

The hiss isn't much of a problem. If it bothers you it can be remedied with a free low gain preamp. I haven't ordered the new amp yet and don't know if I will. This is the one problem, costumer support in Canada isn't that great. I haven't recieved any replies to emails and there is no toll free number to call from Canada. So if I decide I have to have the low gain preamp I could end up spending 20-30 bucks on long distance.

But in the end nothing else out there compares to these speakers for the price. Unless something is wrong with you or you really didn't have the money you will not regret this purchase.

Strength:

the subwoofer is powerfull

Weakness:

no off button

these speakers are awsome the bass is earth shattering, and to top that off i just purchased soundblaster platinum 5.1
to go along with it and you would not believe your ears but of course with soundblaster platinum 5.1 you are able to manipulate the sound through these awsome speakers any way you want. JUDGE FOR YOURSELF, BECAUSE I HAVE.......oh yea klipsch has now solved the problem about the no off button
they now sell a moduale on their website that also includes a place for earphone...its $50

Strength:

Great sound in a small package.

Weakness:

Weak speaker terminals. Broke while installing the wires, the first time.

This was a system purchased for our 16 yr. old son as a Christmas present.

Orginally we wanted to get an all in one Dolby Digital receiver like a Kenwood or RCA with speakers. Our son has a DVD player and the regular Dolby-D output of the DVD video card does not interface with the Sound Blaster Live for surround decoding. With the Klipsch, you'll have only stereo, no surround.

Nevertheless, we have had Klipsch products before and enjoyed them.

Overall the system is fine. What's disappointing is that one of the speaker terminals broke during the initial hookup. As we purchased the product well before Xmas, we could not return it. I did make a quick fix, so it works.
The system is a bit hissey, so not what I would recommend as a system for music through a PC set up. (We checked to make sure this was not the fault of the sound card)

Using the Sound Blaster Live output, games are great. Again, if you have a PC-DVD, the audio runs through your sound card as Stereo. (Front L and R).

Overall I rate this system as better than a traditional PC speaker set up, but sonically and mechanically it is not what I expected.

My son agrees, and knowing what we know now, would have preferred an inexpensive all in one Dolby-D receiver, speaker and sub woofer set up, which costs about the same.

Strength:

High volume without distorstion!

Weakness:

Should be 5.1 or 7.1 speakers

The best speakers I have ever come across for the computer! Recomed them to every one! The price for these speakers are sooo low and they are THX approved! It has over 400w RMS and you can turn it up to the max without distortion even on rap and rock songs!

Strength:

Awesome power and clarity

Weakness:

No off button.

Who ever writes a review of these speakers and doesn't give them 5 stars either does not know how to properly setup a computer or is half deaf! I whave worked in the computer business for many years and have not heard anything that even comes close to these. It is simply the best surround system available for PC's. Period. Power, clarity, bass... it has it all.

Someone wrote that their speakers hiss... That tells me that they have the gain set too high on the computer and/or the speakers are too loud. THey then gave it 3 stars. As I said, they either don't know how to properly setup a computer or are half deaf!
