Just picked these up today and only had a short time to enjoy them but I know my neighbors are really going to hate me! It looks like I will have to find a house to really enjoy these speakers to their fullest. Any one who has never had these speakers and does not have much experience in audio equipment and also might live in an apt and is considering these speakers needs to realize a few things;
First I don't claim to be an audiophile and know everything about stereo and home theater equipment. These are some things that have helped me in making my choices with the Klipsch and the other equipment that I will buy in the future. Always remember if everybody says it sounds great and you don't go with your listening tastes!
1)they are very big and heavy find a dealer and demo them first, I had to use a dolly to get mine up three flights of stairs but it was worth it!
2) Do not buy these speakers unless you have or are going to buy high quality equipment to run them with, does not have to be the most expensive stuff in the world I have a Luxman reciever that I plan to replace with a NAD T-761 A/V reciever it's not cheap but it's not the most expensive stuff in the world.
3) These speakers are one of the most effecient speakers you can buy so you do not need an extreme amount of power to run them. They are rated at 200 watts but at that level your ears will start to bleed! Between 100-200 watts of good clean power will bring out the best in these speakers. The NAD T761 has only 80 watts but NAD focuses on the quality of the power. So with the 80 quality watts and the very efficient KLF 20s will make a combo that will sound fantastic!
4) If I had five or ten grand more than of course I would buy a different reciever or go with seperates. So make a budget on how much you can spend and be realistic on how far over you can go. After I the demo of the speakers I looked at a Denon avr 4800. Sounded great and I was like that's what I want. It was $800 more than my budget would allow so I will go with the NAD T761 instead. I could have gone with the Denon but I would not be able to complete my home theater when I planned. So stay close to your budget but if you go over that's cool.
Well I hope this helps some one and once I burn in my speakers and buy my NAD I'll write a review.

Strength:

Unbelievable reproduced sound from the very lows to the very highs. Cymbals never sounded so good. Very profound depth found in sound quality. Wow

Weakness:

Couldn't think of any if you paid me.

Was shopping in a store and happened to pass by the speakers department and saw what was the largest speakers on display. They were a clearance item, so I took a look. Of course all stuff sounds great in the store, so I asked the salesperson to play the same music on the other Polk Audio stuff they had on display. I could not beleive the difference. The KLF-20 blew them all away. As a matter of fact, I hadn't heard such great quality out of a speaker anywhere, and trust me, I've heard them all. These speakers are just plain fantastic. I listen to music, and appreciate it in a whole new way. I am addicted to say the least, and it's hopeless. I went out and bought the Klipsch SW-12, and 2 rear speakers to round it out. They know when I'm home!

Strength:

They slam, but not with crappy, boomy bass. Love the horn mid.

Weakness:

They slam my upstairs neighbors too. Highs can be a little harsh.

I work for a mid-high end retailer, so I get to play with all kinds of cool gear and speakers. When it came time for me to upgrade my system a few months ago, I was torn between many speakers- none of them Klipsch. Then one day they arrived- KLF-20's. We didn't carry them previously, at least during the duration of my employment with the company. Never being a big fan of Klipsch, I was skeptical at first but I fell in love with them because the made Jeff Buckley sound alive again, and played beautifully with most of my listening interests. I have them bi-wired with Monster M-series and hooked up to my Nakamichi RE-2 and Yamaha CD-player. They sound absolutely great- crisp, clean, and they image surprisingly well. They blow away all of the Reference series Klipsch, like RF-3's and RP-3's and 5's. And although I got them dirt cheap, I'd easily recommend anyone considering them for 1,000-1,500 bucks. Get them while you can though- they've been discontinued.

Strength:

What can I say but Great Sound. They can handle the volume and re-produce the sound of Home theater just like we are at the movies. When my friends listen to the system and I tell them the cost they can not believe it! Very satisfied customer.

Weakness:

None Found

We recently began re-decorating the family room. After visiting a couple local stores we searched on-line and lo and behold we found www.acousticsounddesign.com They ship out of Las Vegas, so not only did we save money on the system-no shipping of the product was involved.

The System includes:

Denon AVR-5800
Denon DVM-3700
Klipsch KLF-20
Klipsch KLF-C7
Klipsch RS-3
Klipsch KSW 15
Monster Power Center HTS-2500
Energy Tempest for the back yard.

They included a 100 foot spool of Monster wire, a sub kit and a DVD install kit at no charge. I ran into a problem with the set up of the KSW 15 and they had an installer come the next day to get it right. Needless to say the system is unbelievable. The remote works everything. Watching DVDs with this speaker set up is really like "being at the movies". Even watching the television sounds better.

Strength:

Sound quality, build, Bi-wire capable, etc., etc, etc

Weakness:

NONE!!!!!

After living with a cheap pair of main channel speakers for many years, I decided to upgrade. Boy did I ever!!! After looking @ many different speakers in all price ranges, I was introduced to the Klipsch KLF-20's. The quality of sound was far and above anything else I had heard. Rich full bass from the twin 10" drivers, and incredible highs from the two horns blew me away. Put on a classical music CD and you would swear that you were @ the concert hall

Strength:

Crisp Clear and Clean. Very revealing

Weakness:

Takes two to move 'em

Many of the reviewers noted that the KLF-20s were a bit harsh or too bright. I found them to be delightful. The room that I have mine in is carpeted with an acoustic tile ceiling, which helps.

The speakers are the most accurate and detailed speaker that I have heard. What amazed me about these speakers is that I am now hearing sounds that I never had heard on CDs that I have had for years and listened to over and over again.

One major advantage of the horns is that they produce a very forgiving soundstage. Because of the horns, the "sweet spot" is much larger than traditional cone or ribbon speakers. Thus, making speaker placement or listener placement less critical. Prior to purchasing these, I asked myself, "If horns are so good, then why is Klipsch the only company using them?" Now I have an answer, Who cares?!

The spikes are an added bonus. They take some time to adjust and level, but the work pays off with substantially crisper bass that you can feel.

The bottom line:
They are crisp, detailed, efficient and powerful. Just the combination that I was looking for.

TIP:
Shop around on price, I found an alarming difference from shop to shop.

Strength:

Very efficient,Crisp sound . Excellent frequency response.
They sound great with any style of music.

Weakness:

None that I can think of.

Just a quick note here. I would recommend these speakers to anyone in the market for a new pair in the $1500 budget. Before I bought these bad boys, I auditioned all sorts of (tower)speakers for three months. FORGET POLK, ENERGY, B&W,BOSTON..blah blah blah. I finally found the Klipsch, and I will probably have these for the rest of my life!

Strength:

Excellent imaging, absolutely the most massive soundstage money can buy, their demonsrative size, worth every penny

Weakness:

slightly bright on the top end (or alot if they aren't for you)

I absolutly love my speakers. I got them for an amazing 850.00!!! I upgraded from the 10.5's which I loved for home theater, but felt there was an over-abundance of high-end and not enough mid-range while I was enjoying my favorite recordings. I decided to move up to the Legends.I noticed a huge difference, especially in my music, everything evened out.Still a bit rough on the ears at high volumes, but I love high volumes and these speakers,so there was no problem for me. I still have the KSF center and surrounds which blend quite well actually. I mean there is a difference, but not a big one that bothers me. You still retain an overall match and my gearing is more towards the music these days. I recently moved across the country and my system followed me too. (AS IF!!!!)
When I unpacked and got situated everything was fine until about a couple of months when I started hearing this rattling from the back of BOTH my cabs!!! (OUCH) I called a Klipsch tecnician at 1-800-554-7724,whose name was Trey.I explained my problem to him and also that I had seen reviews where other people had the same problem. He was extremely polite and very helpful.Trey told me that Klipsch had used a bad batch of glue on some KLF-20's and now are using a dfferent company (thang god!). He also assured me that I could fix the problem myself rather than be without my speakers for the 3 week trip they would go on.I took out the drivers (carefully of course) and with a caulking gun applied a thick strip of Liquid Nails (any local hardware store) around the inside rear of the cab.I let them dry for 24 hours and,as a matter of fact I hooked them back up today and they are playing like new!!! Trey told me that this method should work for 99% of all rattling problems. If this doesn't work Klipsh will pay for shipping them and fixes them for free!! Anyway, reguardless of the problem I had with my speakers, with some patience and some friendly help from Trey,it's nice to know that not only did I buy great speakers,if you should run into problems there are people at the company who will help you as quickly and efficiently as possible so you can get back to doing what you want to do......LISTEN.
