Strength:

System: Pioneer VSX 39TX A/V Receiver-Pioneer PD-F19 CD player Other Pioneer Units. R&L Klipsch KLF 10 C Klipsch RC 25 S Klipsch RS-3 IIs. Warm sound plenty of Bass & treble for detail, and no need for a subwoofer!!!!! I have been running these KLF 10s since 2004, and sound as good now as they ever did. These are completely stock speakers, no mods yet. KLF 10z Rock when needed, and a fine low volume with adjustments to the receiver! AAAAA+++++ I am quite pleased with these speakers, and will rebuild as needed, and wait for some KLF 30z come along.

Weakness:

They are not KLF 20z or 30z.... and who knows, they might not sound any better.

Strength:

They bring it, can add Titanium diaphragms in the horns, rebuild the crossovers and you have beasts that dig deep 32hz. Good at low listening levels or knock stuff off the walls if you so choose.

Weakness:

They have age and need new capacitors, the horn was a bit harsh before adding Crites Titanium diaphragms to the horns which is a great improvement. My 10s had a lifeless sound though, I didn't realize it till I brought some $50 beat up KG4.2 back to life. They sounded better. I sent my crossovers off to be rebuilt at Crites and my caps must've been terrible because my KLF were kings again, alive vs Dead sounding, for mine new caps were a game changer. Paid $300 in 2016 glad I own them.

I bought these speakers after hearing these speakers at the home theater store. They are amazing; I can hear detail in my music that I previously had missed. They are unquestionably the best speakers I have ever heard for both music and home theater. They are incredibly efficient and clear sounding. These speakers are appropriately labeled "legend series." If you can find some take the time to listen to them. You may even be able to pick them up for a great price since they are no longer in production. The only drawback is that you need a larger room because they are large speakers and your neighbors may object to the volume of your music.

Great speaker. The imaging of the KLF-10s is precise and these speakers have great depth of sound field; especially when dealing with live albums. These speakers are best for the lover of live rock recordings. Actually, if I had one gripe about these speakers it would be that they are TOO forward/aggressive. I counter this with a tube preamp in my signal chain from a digital source. This trait may be desirable for someone who listens to a lot of live recordings and wants their speakers to sound more like the PA system in recorded venue.

You can usually scoop these on the cheap- check craigslist and EBayfor local finds. You should be able to pick these up starting around $200+ for the pair. Just make sure the woofers' rubber surrounds are OK. Even if they aren't just factor an $80/refoam/woofer into your negotiations. Audio reproduction worth many times the $ spent.

Strength:

Easily driven, if you missed a special concert, pull out your cd's and give a listen w/lights out. For 2 channel listening you don't need a sub.

Weakness:

These are'nt small or light but come in nice veneers

Bought these new in "98" after hearing "Days of the New" 1st album playing. At home ran them w/Marrantz SR7000 receiver and really liked the sound. My tastes run from various rock categories to jazz. In 2001 my musical world changed by purchasing separate amp and preamp, something I had'nt done in over 12 yrs. Talk about night and day difference, now I love my KLF10's. These spkrs are aggressive, like sitting in the front row at a concert. Listening levels are loud enough to hear the dynamics and not have my ears bleed. Driving these w/200 watts a side, they can crank though, because they are very efficient and take little power to drive them. A listening session is usually 2 to 5 hrs. and my ears are not fatigued afterwards. Relistening to some favorites: Dave Matthews(Under the Table),Jeff Beck(Wired),Days of the New(1st),Wishbone Ash(Nouveau Calls/all instrumental),Sarah Mc Lachlan(Fumbling Towards Ecstasy),Climax Blues Band(Rich Man), and Track #4 off of Steve Morse(Stressfest, love the bass guitar tone), keeps that smile on my face. If you enjoy Rock and Jazz I recommend you give the KLF10's a listen. My equip: Pre amps- Aragon 18K MK II,Acurus RL 11 Power amps- Acurus A200 and Hafler DH200 CD- Arcam CD 72T, Sony CDP CA8ES(for previewing mixed albums) Mini Disc- Sony MDS JB940, Sony MDS JE500 (analog use w/PC) Cables- Monster Z interconnects, Monster M 1.2 speaker

Strength:

everything, very very clear and detailed

Weakness:

no biamping connectors

These are the best speakers that I have heard for under $1000. They are crystal clear (thanks to the Tractrix Horn tweeter). Bass is okay for some types of music, but I prefer a powered sub for movie viewing. They bring out every detail in music and movies, so much detail that I find myself listening to my CDs as if I just brought them again. They also reveal poor recordings. Overall these are great speakers, I would recommed them to anyone looking for good, loud and clear sound.

Strength:

um.. bass.. midrange.. high-frequency.. power-EFFICIENT

Weakness:

nothing at all

there is very little to say about these speakers, except that they are simply the best sounding ones that i've ever heard... i run them with a Luxman L-480 amp, and its sweet music all the time... unmatched in their price range, these are in their own league... they sound even bigger than they are too, and they are quite large...

Strength:

Clean sound, tight bass. Tremendous power handling. Unsurpassed bang for the buck!

Weakness:

If you have/buy a pair check the internal wiring.

I can't stop smiling everytime I listen to these jewels. I have been auditioning mid priced systems for about five years. I have been watching CD player prices coming down and also noticed 2 channel receivers leveling off. So I walk into Tweeters and listen to a Denon through Mission system. I'm starting to think buy, but the speaker prices are more than I want to spend. The salesman tells me he has a pair of Bose 701's deeply discounted, and by the way the Klipsch 10's are reduced too. It was love at first sound. SOOOO clear and clean! BAH to those who say they're harsh! All you need to do is position them correctly. Yes you will pick-up poorly recorded distortions and noises. They are efficiently reproducing what was recorded. To make a long story short... I ended up buying a Yamaha RX-777 two channel receiver. 100 watts @8ohms. Has an overide for the preamp that allows listening AS recorded called CD Direct. This system sounds wonderful! The Klipsch's are so efficient at low levels. All the nuances come through. I have to keep it turned down most of the time yet I still am able to thoroughly enjoy the music. When the cats leave, man does this system crank!!!! Incredible... Awesome... Stirring! I love the way the bass hits my diaphragm. The highs are crystalline. The details are all there with no discernable distortion. If Klipsch is discontinuing this line I can't wait to see what they come out with to replace them! That's the good news. Now the bad. When I first hooked this system up I thought I had a problem. The right channel would cut out intermittently. I couldn't believe that I could be having a problem with Klipsch speakers. I assumed it was my installation or the Yammy. As I was re rechecking my connections I bumped the back of the speaker causing it to play loud & clear. I opened the speaker up at the connectors to find solderless spade connectors VERY loosely connected to the crossovers. I was appalled at the wiring connections throughout the speaker. I have since replaced this with standard Monster speaker wire with soldered connections, and have had no other problems. Although this part of the build was substandard, I found the rest of the construction very good. All things considered I would highly recommend these speakers.

Strength:

good qlarity,quality,and price

Weakness:

none

I brought these speakers from my job a couple months ago for only $480pr. I think it was the best purchase I ever made. They satisfied my needs although, the horns tended to be overpowering when I first turned them on. Other than that it is a great speaker for the money.
