Strength:

Good voice reproduction and clear midrange.

Weakness:

a little bright.

These are great little speakers. I have been using mine in various positions in my home theater and always am amazed at the lifelike sound. I have used them with Dahlquist DQM9 mains, Polk RT25i's, and Definitive Technologies Promonitor 80's. These have the best human voice reproduction of any of them. Good for center channel, although they can't really reproduce the lower octave stuff.

Strength:

good upper end and power handling.

Weakness:

lower en gets muddy and loses imaging.

This review corresponds to the KLH AV2001 which this site has not listed inspite of repeated requests. In any event this pair of speakers are OK for the occasional listener who is not interested for much imaging accuracy. For its price and looks if does the job. Good for classical music and TV. Not recommended for rock music as its lower end gets muddy.

These speakers have a very sharp and crisp sound. Since they only have 4" woofers, they lack in base, but would do good with a subwoofer. Costco usually has them from time to time for $45. A very good buy.

Strength:

Solid construction, versital

Weakness:

none considering price/size

For a speaker in the $50 range, it can't be beat. I have to give it up to KLH for their construction on this product. It's solid! As far as sound...I think it does the job just fine. Lacks a little in bass, but if its used with a sub or as a second pair of speakers in a surround setup it performs well. Mount them on a wall, or on a speaker stand and you have a decent sounding speaker for next to nothing. I originally bought them to just hook up to a inexpensive mini speaker system I was using in a studio for a keyboard(when i didn't want to run it through the main monitors) but after using them there for a month, I moved them to home system for surrounds! I've cranked them up...handles fine, little to no distortion. All in all...excellent bargain for those on a budget.
