Strength:

Accoustic music, reserved but still detailed treble, tight midrange

Weakness:

Lacks involving bass

If you are looking for a near-field monitor for a smaller room, then these are a very good choice. I would have to defend these speakers against complaints about their lack of bass by saying it''s a worthy sacrifice to maintain it''s superbly coherent midrange. The tweeter is very intricate and reserved, and I find the coincident design does a good job of keeping sound even throughout the room. I use them for computer speakers and their handsome cabinets are the highlite of my desktop. I''ve coupled them with an 8" Velodyne and though with high volumes the sub can''t keep up, at lower volumes they complement each other nicely.

Strength:

Great highs and mid-range

Weakness:

Deep bass not there, that's why god invented sub-woofers!

I'LL TRY TO KEEP THIS SHORT STORY LONG, I MEAN THIS LONG STORY SHORT.
I'M A SELF PROFESSED AUDIO ENTHUSIAST AND WEEKEND MUSICIAN, DRUMS. ONE OF MY PASSIONS IS LISTENING TO GOOD MUSIC. BUT, BETWEEN MARRIAGE, KIDS, DOGS, HORSES ECT. MY STEREO SYSTEM HAS BEEN LACKING. AS I HAVE MATURED, GOT OLD, MY MUSIC INTERESTS HAVE MELLOWED. I STILL LOVE HEARING "BONZO" TEARING IT UP NOW AND AGAIN BUT MY MAIN INTERESTS ARE SOFT ROCK AND JAZZ.
WHEN I GOT MY INCOME TAX BACK I CONVINCED MY WIFE IN SOME HOME IMPROVEMENTS, NAMELY A NEW STEREO SYSTEM. I WAS'NT INTERESTED IN HOME THEATER. SHE, AMAZINGLY, AGREED THAT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA. I WENT SHOPPING.
TO CUT TO THE CHASE I PURCHASED A NAKAMICHI RE-10 RECEIVER AND A DENON DCM-370 CD CHANGER. I MATED THESE WITH MY EXSISTING SPEAKERS, KLIPSCH 3.1 AND A JBL PSW-1000 SUB. WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT. I'M EMBARRASSED TO SAY WHAT MY OLD SYSTEM WAS. THEY BECAME TARGETS!
A RELATIVE OF MINE WHO DOSE HOME THEATER TOLD ME HE COULD GET ME A PAIR OF KEF Q-15'S FOR A GOOD PRICE. HE PRAISED THEM HIGHLY AND I RESPECT HIS OPINION.
I CAN'T TELL HOW MUCH I LOVE THESE LITTLE SPEAKERS. THE HIGHS ARE CLEAR AND CRISP AND THE MID-RANGE SNAPPY AND OPEN. MATCHED WITH MY OLD SUB, THEY SOUND INCREADIBLE. MY LISTENING ENJOYMENT HAS INCREASED TEN FOLD. THERE ARE PROBABLY BETTER SPEAKERS OUT THERE, BUT FOR THE MONEY THESE KEFS WOULD B HARD TO BEAT!

Strength:

crisp clean sound, very tight, very good looking speaker, with or without grill

Weakness:

bass

I just bought these speakers a weekago. The Q'15 are a very good sounding speaker, although i haven't had a chance to listen to a variety of music yet they tend to sound a little tiny. The sale person at the store said it would take a little time to break the speakers in. although they sound clean, they lack in bass . I have to confess i don't know a lot about home stereo equipment, and don't pretend too.The only home stereo that i've ever owned was a yamaha receiver and two speakers, and that was back in 1983,guess who has it now? Yep you guessed right the ex wife "sucker".So I'll give the speaker a chance, and from what i've read in all the reviews i'm sure i went with the right choice.

Strength:

Clean, pure voicing on female vocals with solid midrange.

Weakness:

Little weak on the low end, but sub makes up for this.

The Q15s are definately worth the money. The speakers are clear and pure, with few overtones that other speakers tend to have which tend to distort clarity. The speakers are well styled and tend to sound better with the grills off. The blue-gray cones are appealing to the eye...much better than the mustard-yellow of other English speakers.

Strength:

Midrange and highs. Sweet full sound. Very nice soft dome tweeter

Weakness:

Little to complain about considering price point

Nice full sound from an inexpensive and small speaker. Great midrange. A musical speaker rather than an analytical one.

Treble isn't overdone like many metal dome tweeters which seem to overpower the sound. The small soft dome tweeter in these blend nicely with the mids and bass. Bass is good especially on recordings that have it and very good on DD soundtracks.

I'm driving them with a NAD T760 and Sony 7700 for dvds. For music I'm using a California Audio Icon MK2. I think the combo of the NAD and the Cal add quite a bit of fullness and bass weight to these speakers.

Strength:

Good finish, nice shape, really good sound: great mids and highs and enough bass for not very large rooms. You can place them close to the wall. Very good performance for little money. Bi-wireable.

Weakness:

None for that price and size.

I have been using these speakers for 8 months and I'm really happy with them. I usually listen many styles of music (except classical) and these speakers handle them without problems.
Female voices and acustic instruments sound with special fidelity.

I listened many bookself speakers before I bought the Kef's like B&W, Mission, Infinity, Jamo, etc. all of them in the 200-350$ price range. Some of them sound great but are too expensive (like B&W's), and some of them sound clearly worse, in my opinion, for the same money (like some mission's and infinity's).

These speakers are one of the best options for those of you who are looking for decent speakers that have a great response for every style of music in the <300$ price range.
The quality of construction is also high and they seem to be built to last.

I have them in a bookself and conected to a NAD C340 integrated amplifier and a NAD C520 cd player. The room is about 12 square meters and there is no prooblem with the bass response.
I desagree with some reviews readed here that says these speakers don't have enough bass.
If you want a "boom-boom-bass-speakers" forget these ones and go for JBL's or similar (american-style-sound), but, if you apreciate the fidelity of the sound try the Q15's.
I'm not saying that JBL's are a wrong choice, they just sound different.

The sound of the kef's is really clear and clean at every frecuency, and te response is even better if you bi-wire them. Also they matches very well with the NAD amp. I recomend a good quality amplifier if you want the best efficiency of this babes.

PD: Don't read too many reviews and go to the shop to listen the speakers. Don't fill your head with reviews like this and articles (sometimes written by stupid "audiophiles").
Go to the shop with some of your well-known cd's and try the different alternatives. Your ears are the only ones that don't lie.

Strength:

Good size, good looks, coherent sound

Weakness:

Bass

Great little speakers for the money, and persoanlly I found them better than speakers higher up the price range too.

I actually went to the store to audition the Q35's which are basically the Q15 as a floorstander. The larger case gives a better bass response but I found that it was not as good as I would have expected for the increase in price. It seemed to take the edge off a very balanced sound. The Q35's treble and mid performed very well but the bass was not as good and let the overall package down.

I decided then to sound test the Q15's which immediately sounded more coherent and overall a more balanced sound although lacking in bass. But I thought than rather than spend the extra money on the Q35's and get an average bass response, the money would be better spent on the Q15's and a decent sub and getting a superb bass response - which is what I did.

I have now got a dynamite little system for the money and needless to say - I am well impressed!

Strength:

Small and elegant unit. Good bass for size and nice mids and highs

Weakness:

Bass not HUGE. Get a sub.

I have these bi wired as rear surrounds on my Yamaha A1 home cinema setup. The fronts are TDL RTL3 and I have a TDL NFM 2 as the centre. The RTL3 pump huge amounts of bass so I dont have a problem with the bass of the Kefs. They are great as near field monitors and could be used as mains if you not into bending floorboiards with thumping LFE. I recommended them highly. In fact I am so impressed I will be audtioning its big brothers for front and centre duties. Plus I will pick up another pair for front FX duties on the 7.1 modes of the A1

After a three month search for new speakers I finally decided on the KEF Q15.2's. Although I had budgeted spending more than I did for the KEF's I found nothing under $500/pr that were as good as the 15.2's. The highs and mids are are as close to perfect as I found for a speaker in this price range.
I bought two pairs and a Q95.2 Center Channel for my Home Theater. All I can say is that the sound these little guys put out is amazing. I give them an enthusiastic 5 stars.
