Strength:

This speaker is a national treasure. If you have an opprtunity to buy a pair, do so. I had a pair of the RMS 22's when they came out in 1997. Loved them as well. Had a chance to get a pair of the 25XLs and went for it. Joseph Audio Speakers might be the best kept secret in all of Audio. Now, I know they are well known amongst die hard audiophiles, but many do not know of the outstanding sound up and down the JA line, for the last 20 years mind you. JA speakers have no apparent weaknesses, they are musical speakers that draw the listener into the music and often the audiophile forgets the critical listening mantra they started the session with. They are detailed, they image, the midrange is to die for and the high end is silky smooth with plenty of air when required. The bottom end is extremely tight and with no bloom. I have powered these with a few amps, the Creek 5320se (80 wpc) and the Jolida 150 wpc hybrid. They sounded great with both, the Creek perhaps providing a tad more bass. I have some Focal Aria 926s currently and actually they are very good speakers, not as good as the 25XLs but 85% as good. That is as close as I have gotten. I also have had Martin Logan ESLs, no off axis performance, sweet spot is a pin point. Used Jospehs are hard to find the new ones are pricey, but worth it. These used JA's from the mid 2000's are mind blowingly great bargains.

Weakness:

None that I can hear.
