very good sound when powered right

low low bass weak

These sound sooo good in a mid-sized room with the right power. I have a Scott integrated amplifier I think is a European model from the 70's or 80's, not sure, but is 50/wpc. The Scott has a really smooth, warm output, and with the JBL's I am very happy considering I have this as my 'kitchen stereo'. I would really like to find some LX600's and a matching center to run home theater with these. Great speakers. Look a little like the Northridge series 3-way 8's but I can not really tell how close or apart they are 'genetically'. I'd rather have the LX500's than the 4312's I had previously which had harsh highs and no sub-bass for a 12" cabinet. I was disappointed in the 4312s and that's another story. Rock those LX 500's!!!!

I LIKE THESE SPEAKERS .THEY SOUND THERE BEST WITH JAZZ FUSION.THEY DONOT SOUND SO GREAT WITH ROCK OR HEAVY METAL/FOR FRONT ENDS WITH DVD MOVIES THEY ARE GREAT/

I purchased these and a technics sa-ex110 as a monitor setup for my pc (tired of cheap pc speakers) Great nearfield monitors for pc recording and editing. you do not have to spend the big bucks for nearfield monitors, I recommend it for anyone doing multimedia productions or pc multitrack/recording and editing.

I bought theise loudspeakers 6 months ago after having the LX 400 series. I was quite disapointed with the LX400 because it couldn´t handel my Yamaha 590 with an output of 100 watts, clearly!Well, then I took a chance and bought the larger model which improved enourmsly.
The LX500 has a great bass which sometimes can interfere. It´s also a 4Ohm speaker with 175Watts.
A speaker for the less enthusiastic person!!

Very good midrange and highs. Decent imaging. Clean sound.

Cannot handle heavy bass very well

Have had LX 500 for 5 years and I am very pleased with them overall. They are very good sounding speakers for the price. Only drawback is the lack of deep bass response.
