Strength:

great overal sound, good sound stage

Weakness:

placement is crucial

I was using a pair of $100 Yamaha speakers for a while, college student on tight budget and all. Well, I wanted an upgrade, and for good reason too. I went out and looked at two pair of Polk speakers, I was pretty pleased with their sound for the money. rt55's I picked up for 400. A friend told me he would sell me the CS3006's for 400, I really hadn't heard of them, and couldn't find anything online about them. No one could tell me anything about them, so I decided to do a sound test. I had an Onkyo 575 receiver, and a Rotel CD deck with some Tara labs interconnects. I listened to some A - B switch overs for some quite time. The CS3006's went much deeper and sounded much more crisp then the rt55's. They also played a LOT louder, and were not stressed as much as the rt55s at high volume levels. Speaker placement is much more crucial for the CS3006's then the rt55s. If anyone knows where I can pick up another pair please let me know!!! I really would like to get the center channel to match, does anyone know what the model # is for the center?
All in all, I think they are a great speaker, I play them all the time.
