Have had these speakers for a couple months now and have been impressed from the beginning. What I didn't realize it that they really needed more power to really come alive. Yes, they are very efficient; but that still doesn't mean they ever have enough power input to really sound clean. Now I'm using my new Sony STRD-B930 receiver and, at double the power I had formerly, their sound has become spectacular. Wish I could afford separates and 300wpc. Then...

These speakers sound very clear and defined. And overall they are a great deal for the price (725 ea at ubay). The only complaint I have is the annoying hiss that is heard between tracks, or when nothing is playing (before the speaker amps shut off).

I recently purchased these speakers from UBID and got a pretty good deal. I think they are great (for the most part), clean, and loud... my only complaint, and only one other posted a response similar, is that the crossover is pretty severe. I listen to a considerable amount of "electronic" music. For example, when playing the Crystal Method's - Vegas cd, it sounds WAY out of whack. The bass and highs in many songs are at the peaks of the respective frequency range and the bass really bottoms out. It seems that some of the bass should be sent up to the mids for a smoother output. It's a little hard to explain, but is definitley noticeable. All of my other cd's sound pretty good. I'm running an HK75 a/v receiver with the speakers. Thanks all! What a great site!

We love classical guitar, Eagles, Eric Clapton and the like. If you like hard hitting Strings and vocals that are singing in the room with you these are the ones. During Clapton I'm there tapping him on the shoulder! I've read the reviews that say the subs are not what they need to be, I beg to differ, It just depends on whether you want to have overpowering bass. These are like a fine wine, not everybody has the palate to understand the complexities of this Grand Cru! I'm just a guy who loves to feel the music and I know what I like and this is it. Don't let anybody influence you (including me!), close your eyes and see if you feel it and if you don't then there's another vintage out there for you!

I was listening to these babies over at Circuit City because I was looking for a new speaker system for my new house and I heard these and it was the most incredible and real sound I have ever heard. These are easily the best speakers I have ever listened to. These are way better tyhan the Energy c-8's. They just don't compare. I would recommend these to everyone who loves clear crisp sound at a very high volume. I put 160 watts through these babies and they sounded as clear and crisp as when i am running 50 watts through them. They are just the best speakers. No other speakers compare. They dont need anything else either. Every thing is there. They have plenty of bass and perfect mids and highs. They are just the greatest. If I could on a scale from 1-5, I would give thewm a 10 but I can only give them a 5.

I compare the Overture 3 with the Energy C6 at my home for two weeks, and it was obvious to me that returning the Overture 3 is the way to go. While the overture 3 has better bass (because of the built-in amplifier), that is its only plus. It was obvious that the C6 has better image, much larger soundstage, and more dynamic range. Overall, I agree the Overture 3 is the best speaker in Circuit City, but I will never pay for that kind of money (even if paying for $1500 mail order), given that the C6 is much cheaper, and sounds much better. I'm glad I didn't limit my choices to speakers sold in CC or BB when I did my shopping.
4 stars for quality, 2 stars for value.

These speakers are one of the top of the line speakers in my book. The sound quality is too great for a five so i will give it a six. It has its own built in subwoofer. So that baby rocks the house. You can feel the vibration in your body when your watching a movie or just enjoying music. So if you dont like quality sound don't get these.

Don't be put off (like J. Walter) because of the price. $2500/pair is the list price. You can find them cheaper. I never imagined paying more than $600/pair for a set of speakers. But after several comparisons and multiple listens to the OVTR 3's I was hooked. I decided to take the plunge and I am soooo happy with these speakers! They produce a warm natural sound. And the powered subs are fantastic! Never boomy! Just pure, deep bass (down to 25hz!) at ALL volume levels. They blew away what I was using before. If a tight wad like myself can get over the $$ factor, you can too. Treat yourself to the Infinity Overture 3. And just try to stop smiling every time you use them!!!

the best part about these speakers to me was the price
