Strength:

I really don't mind these speakers. I paid 210.00 for them and for that price, they really boogie. I looked into it and just to get the box made and the speaker covers it would cost approx 100.00 each so it's like I got the speakers for free. And if they ever blow I'll just replace them. So I personally don't think that it's a scam, unless you paid more than 300 than yah that's too much. But anything under 300 I think you got a deal

Weakness:

Quality isn't perfect, but good.

Not Bad speakers for under 300 any more you got ripped

These are scan speakers, made of very cheap material. I,
like so many other suckers, bought them from a couple of
thugs in a van. Forget what I paid for them, ya dont wanna
know.
I took a look inside. The 12" states it is an ARL model W1220. The Mid-rage is also an ARL model MR47. Can't get
any info on ARL anywhere. The 12" looks ok - doesn't look
too bad, but the magnet is small. Its marking states
270 Watt Max. Sure, more like 50 watts from my estimation.
Sound ?
Bad. Reeaall bad. No Bass to speak of. The problem ?
Cheap 12" ? Note necessairly, heres the key - NO CROSSOVER !
All there is is a capacitor in series with the mid and
horn ( which, by the way, is so cheep its not even marked ).
A capacitor is NOT the way to filter sound - that'll blow
for sure.
I am going to reqire the speaker with a real crossover
circuit and compare the sound afterwards. If I can at least
get them sounding ok, I will sell them for $ 100.00 plus the cost of the crossover.
Will report later.

Bought these speakers out of the back of a thug's van. On my way to my buddies place I was praying that I didn't get ripped off. Looking back on what happened I don't know what took hold of me, buying scat out of the back of the van.... what was I thinking?! Got the batty boy's licence plate number though I don't know how much good it'll do me here it is:
Ontario 677 OER, metalic GMC van. Dudes called themselves John and Fred. :)If anyone comes by these two please, give them a lashing for me ... thanx!
