JM Lab Electra 915
I have been listening to my JM Lab Electra 915 for some 100 hours now. I am driving these speakers with the Bryston B60 Integrated Amp. Digital source is Denon DCM 520, cables and interconnects are all Audioquest Crystal. Speaker placement is approximately 2 feet from back wall and 4 feet from side wall. Room dimensions are approximately 16' by 20' with open-ended back wall. I can honestly say that at this time my listening experience does not yet compare with the "magic" these speakers produced upon several listening room auditions. The bass response is disappointing at this time, no real articulation or clear bass line. (In the listening rooms this was one of the real strengths of these speakers). Mid-range and upper ranges are fine but again not magical. I rate these speakers as good but not great (this is a big disappointment to me). I hope that with increased hourage that the "magic" I remember from my auditions of these speakers returns.

Strength:

Excellent imaging and coverage.

After listening to these speakers for over 100 hours I have really started to like them. The more I listen to them the more I like them.

One other major addition to my system has been speaker cables. A lot of people over look this aspect, but I must say you don't know what these puppies can do for you unless you get "good" cables. I invested in the Audioquest ($120 ft/pair) Caldera and its worth every penny. I was initially thinking of upgrading to 920s but to me they were not worth the $1500 difference. Go to an Audioquest dealer and borrow anything above the Granite, you will know what I mean. My next step is the Audioquest Python inter connects.

The 915 are very colorful on highs, mids and lows! If you are into classic try Mahler's Symphony 6 Finale digitally recorded. Also give a listen to Loreena Mc Kennitt, you will then realize these speakers are worth much more than you paid. Setup:-
Nakamichi PA-1
Nakamichi CA-1
Nakamichi MB-10
Nakamichi DR-10
Nakamichi DVD10s
Audioquest Caldera speaker cables and Python inter connects.

I have spent a lot of time in doing my home work researching the JMlabs, separates, cables, etc. My advise is to make sure you play with the speakers, cables and components before you put your money into it. Also speaker placement is very critical. Ideally place your speakers 8ft aprt with nothing in between them and 3ft from both side and rear walls.

Please do your research and experiment with these speakers as described above and then leave your reviews. Thanks!
