Strength:

Good natural sound, made nearby

Weakness:

Units are heavy!

Canadian made, at least on this continent. They sound great. Sound is very natural, not too tinny, or too boomy. Run my amp with tone controls even

Similar Products Used:

RS speakers, and they pale by comparison to my ENERGY's

Strength:

Cheap! Now you can only pay HKD $980 for a display set.

Weakness:

Bad music for Stereo and surround!!!

Bad treble and mid range sound. Bass is lacking . I am an Energy speaker user and all of my speakers are "Energy", I think it is the worst Energy loundspeaker. Now I am using "Energy" e:XL-25 for front speaker and I think it is much more better than Pro4.5....

Energy e:XL-25, XL-250

Strength:

Well desinged, Excellent value.

Weakness:

Need a good subwoofer to compensate for lack of bass reproduced.

Used for both home theatre and music. Good treble and mid range sound. Bass is a little lacking but a good subwoofer compensates for this.

Strength:

Best for accoustic -guitar, jazz, new age.

Weakness:

Cabinet resonanse

I use it for home theater and music. The speaker should be on spikes and for good imaging and soundstage about 15 deg. toe in is needed.
I'm using Yamaha AV reseiver RX-V995 to drive these speakers. TO hear it sings you would need a good source.Since I use for HT and music, I use Pioneer DVD 525 as transport and Alchemist TS-D1 for DAC.
Good quality interconnects and speaker cabels play an important part. I'm using NBS Firefly(interconnects) AFA Ares (speaker cabels)and Straightwire Silver Link for digital.Link bar on the speaker cabel binding post should be
remove and replace it with jumper cabels. The low end can sound tighter by placing the source on cones or on vibration damping board like Voodoo Board or Mana.Though I think it need better amplication.Well thats all for now!

These speakers have truly surpassed any expectations I had from them when I initially bought them 8 months ago. Going from a harman/kardon to an Arcam alpha 8 to an Anthem integrated 1 and finally to a naim nait-3, the speakers have revelaed differences in the amps that I didn't think they were capable of. The bass will fill a medium sized room to around 35 hz and they will play LOUD. On the flip side, their tonal balance belies their price. Everything from vocal material to acoustic to rock just seems to come across extremely well balanced, for any speaker, but especially for a speaker in this price range. I am extremely impressed thus far and I am having a hard time justifying that next upgrade to a pair of naim speakers! Overall, an incredible value and very musical and easy to listen to.
An easy five stars for the dinero.

Energy Pro 4.5 is without a doubt the best speaker purchase I have made. I have been a proud owner for 2 years, and not a day goes by where I do not listen to them for less than 2 hours. Superb design and incredible tonal balance give the 4.5 some very versatile applications. I have used them for DTS home theater and as the sound source for my computer as well. And the fact that they are Canadian made definitely sealed the deal for me!
