Strength:

Incredible sound for the price and the size.

Weakness:

None that I can find.

After listening to the Take 5's and Encore side by side, the Encore won me over with the additional mid range and ability to fill a larger room with beautiful sound.

Awesome for home theater. Has a great soundstage and imaging for 2 channel audio. Sub is very tight and rumbles with much larger and higher priced subs. Sub blends in with the rest of the system flawlessly. I'm driving the system with a Yamaha HTR5150 receiver (70w X 5 channel) which works great. Speaker package retails for $1500 in the states. Give Marc Hallam a call at the Audioshop in Canada at 613-233-2215 and save some money. $1240 usd including shipping insured FEDEX 2 day delivery to my door. Also check out their web site at www.audioshop.on.com for product info, exchange rates and pricing.

Strength:

The tweeter comes straight from the Veritas line. Direct radiating speakers at a value and a half!

Weakness:

Not a full range of tone, but perfect for just about everyone.

I needed a good pair of speakers to match my Energy Connoissuer 6s and AC-300 center channel. So where else was I going to look? Other than Energy... Yeah right!

I picked up a pair of the Energy Encore 2s through the Audio Shop in Canada. www.audioshop.on.ca ask for Marc! I bought these speakers because my brother and a buddy of mine are running the Energy Encore system. I'm overly impressed with the speakers especially on movies, but in must they lack a little bit of that full sound I'm looking for. So, I was thinking those little devils would make great surrounds. And yes! They do!

I bought a pair and threw them up for my 5.1 surround. Now I need to order another pair to complete my DTS ES setup!

I've pretty much summed up everything you need to know about these speakers already, but sound... So, how do they sound? Not too shabby I must admit. They can handle some power, and they make a perfect addition to the home theater. Not only that, they are quite the lookers too! But sound is more important, and the Encore line has that covers. They have great imaging, and can scream right into your face. They of course live up to the Energy name, and have the clarity that Energy has given us!

In my opinion, I would never use these speakers as fronts. Reason being, I listen to a lot of music and my perception of tone is really defined. I would always perfer a full tower speaker over bookshelf speakers any day of the week. Minus the exception of the new Veritas line of the 2.1 and 2.2 speakers. But hey, These speakers (Encore) do feature the tweeters in the Veritas line, so you cant beat that!

I am very satisfied for throwing these as rear surrounds. I feel that they are a great value and just sound so perfect in my set up. I couldn't be any happier and it almost brings a tear to my eye!

If you haven't heard them yet, run out to your local Home Theater shop and give 'em a test drive. You will not be dissapointed. And I'm sure there are hundred, and thousands who will disagree with me on the fact that I don't think they are musically inclined, but thats why they make speakers for everyone's preference. But nonetheless, you can honestly not go wrong with these speakers...

Looked at B&W, Klipsh, and NHT. Does Bose count? Not too sure since I was listing other good speakers!

Strength:

Great Sound and excellent finish

Weakness:

I will have to try really hard to find one

I bought these speakers primarily for home theatre use, but I find them sounding great with music as well. The sub at 8 Inches (very unassuming) thunders all the way down and is one of the best I have come across in recent times. Test this package with the Super Speedway DVD and you will see what the sub can really do.
If you are looking for a budget home theatre package...don't look elsewhere.

Strength:

This is the best mini speaker system on the market with an MSRP of less than a $2,000.

Excellent build quality.
Sound Reproduction is amazing at this price point.

Weakness:

None I can think of.

If you're looking for a small HT speaker system your search is over.

I compared the Energy System with the Bose Acoustimass (absolute junk on all counts) and the Boston Acoustics Micro system which sounded too artificial for my HT tastes.

Test the system. I think you'll be very happy.
