Strength:

Midrange, treble...looks!! (beech finish)

Weakness:

need plenty of room...which I dont have.Moving to bigger spot though, so will open up more...great!

Great value speakers...souud great and look more expensive than they actually are.Only problem is they need room to sing - supposedly 1 metre from any wall.Got NAD 317 and C521 kit with QED Qunex 2 interconnect and QED Silver Anniversary sp/cable. Bass is tight and punchy. Midrange revealing and treble sweet and crisp.Looking for a good value budget speaker, then these should be on your shortlist.

Strength:

Neutrality. Scale. Ambience. Bass performance. Musicality.

Weakness:

Slight cabinet colouration with some female vocals.

I decided on these speakers to accompany a Marantz CD6000 OSE player via Pioneer VSA-E03 amp, to front the music side of my AV system.

These speakers are simply awesome in my opinion, What HIFI's 5 Star review of them was spot on. Do not let the budget price fool you in to thinking they are budget performance, they most definitely are not. In many ways they rival much more expensive speakers.

Out of the box I was greeted with a forceful & harsh top end, a couple of hours `burn in' however, revealed one of the sweetest & articulated I have heard at this level.

Midrange was equally impressive conveying an open & natural soundstage, making strings, piano, horns, solo saxaphone etc, simply sing.

Some female vocals revealed a slight cabinet colouration but nothing serious, & never once detracted from the overall enjoyment.

Bottom end is well extended, & with a power that belies their size, revealing bass lines that are both tuneful & fluid without so much as a hint of the dreaded boom.

To conclude, superbly able & musical budget speakers. Make sure you put them on your list.
