I auditioned this speakers together with the Dali Grand and the B&W 805 Nautilus, and in my opinion there is only one winner. The Doxa has a Scan-Speak Revelator tweeter, a Seas 8" bass and a beautiful cabinet in 32mm massive wood.As far as sound goes they are unbeatable at the price. The soundstage is wide and as three-dimentional as the best dipoles. The midrange and treble also tops most speakers i`ve heard at this price level, and they almost made me regret shelling out loads of bucks on my Sonus Faber Extremas. There are very few compromises here. Compared to the Doxa the Dali Grand was terrible with lots of colouration in the lower midrange, and the 805 Nauts were a good number two, but with a very two-dimentional soundstage compared to the Doxas. The only speakers i`ve heard with such a deep and realistic sound stage is the Quad ESL 63-s but they lack in dynamics, a problem the Doxas don't have.
One warning though, with the big port on the back of the speaker they need quite a distance to the rear wall and a relatively big room not to get too bass-heavy.
