Weakness:

Sound, can't be bi-wired.

Had these for about a month, used them in my home theater setup:

DENON AVR-2800
DENON DVD-2500
Dali SC-7
Dali SR-5
Dali SWA-12 (if you want a new sub buy this)
Audioquest cables

Traded them in for some B&W DM603S2, what a difference, now I love my system again. I can’t believe Dali has made such bad speakers, because I am so happy with all my other Dali equipment.

Don’t use them for Home Theater, they just make a lot of noise and rumbling bass. It is like your listening to speakers and not the movie, everything is just loud and noisi and not quiet and detailed. Everything is better now that I got my 603’s´, tweeter is crisp and clear, midrange is fabulous and the bass ++++++.

Strength:

Deep bass & massive over-all sound.

Weakness:

separation ability

Now that I have owned a pair of 808's for more than two years, I have never regretted my decision.

As a Hip Hop fan my first requirement for speakers was powerful and deep bass sound even when played at low volume (and especially when played at higher level :) . Dali was basically the only real brand to consider in my limited budget.

Some might argue that the bass suffocates all the other elements, but I haven't found this as a real problem. Even when listening to occasional funk or jazz records. Dali suites just fine also for my home theater needs. I certainly don't have to buy any subwoofer to go along with the system.

I'm positive that there are better speakers out there somewhere, but for my needs and my money these were the perfect solution!
