Strength:

Musical, easy to drive, tonal accuracy, soundstaging

Weakness:

Nothing of note

First, I would like to address the one "review" that gave these loudspeakers a 1 star rating. I have no way of know ing the circumstances behind the problem that this reviewer had with his speakers (and I can understand that frustration can cause a person to lash out), but does it not seem strange that out of a half dozen 5 star reviews (include mine in that number) that there should be such a glaring difference of opinion ? Possibly, his speakers were damaged in shipping .....

On to my thoughts .....
I have owned many loudspeakers over the past 20 years, most of them very decent. I have recently come to appreciate the wonderful qualities of low powered single ended triode amplifiers. Anyone who discounts these amplifiers (for whatever reason) can still apply my comments about these speakers, but for SET fans, the comments may have special value.

My listening room is about 18' x 21' with the wall behind the speakers heavily treated with diffusor panels and the side walls treated with absorber panels. This goes a long way in overcoming problems in my nearly "square" room. The speakers are 6' from the rear wall and about 7' apart on Target knockoff stands filled with 75 pounds of lead shot and sand.

I am driving the speakers with a Camelot Morganna CD player with remote volume through a pair of Wright Sound 2A3 monoblock amplifiers with Vaic output tubes. Custom solid core silver interconnects and solid core copper speaker cables carry the juice and everything is plugged into a PS Audio Power Plant 300.

One of the reasons that I purchased these speakers is the efficiency ..... 92 db on the most recent models. The Wright amps drove my ProAcs fairly well, but with the Tri Sigs, it was as if a huge weight was lifted from the amplifiers. I was concerned that I was going to be giving up some things that I had gotten used to with the (excellent) ProAc Response One SCs, but my fears were unfounded. All of the things that the ProAcs do so well were duplicated by the Tri Sigs, with the added benefit of increased dynamics and "ease".

These speakers absolutely disappear into the soundstage. In my room, they throw an image that extends beyond my side walls (20+ feet) and well behind the rear wall. Image placement is specific and holographic. Subtle details abound. I spent an entire evening adjusting toe-in, which is an important aspect of the end results. But, once I had it dialed in, the results were amazing. Contrary to the "1 star reviewer's experience", I can move my head 2 feet to either side of the sweet spot and the image is still locked in place. In fact, it sounds great just about anywhere in the room.

Tonally, these speakers are as good as I've heard ..... with acoustic instruments and voices sounding very natural and complex. Low level detail and the sense of the recording space is superb. They have tight and respectable bass for their size.

In my late night listening sessions, with the lights turned way down, I am able to enjoy a wonderful illusion of having live performers in my room on well recorded material.
Try Diana Krall's tribute to the Nat King Cole Trio for an example ..... it makes the hair on my neck stand up !

BTW ..... the speakers are very well built with very nice binding posts and the finish is knock dead gorgeous !

These speakers were designed with SET amplifiers in mind and you will have to hear them to appreciate just how well they work with low power. A Decware Zen SET amplifier can be purchased for $550.00 and will work wonderfully with these speakers.

For anyone living outside of an area serviced by an authorized Coincident dealer, the speakers are available factory direct. Israel Blume, the owner of Coincident Speaker Technology is a pleasure to deal with and has answered my "numerous" e-mail messages (before and after purchase) quickly and professionally.

I have nothing but the highest regards for this company and its products and, when finances allow, I have every intention of purchasing their Super Eclipse model.
Five well earned stars .....
