Strength:

Big speaker sound out of a small speaker, quality sturdy build, crisp and super clear mids and highs.

Weakness:

None

I had been using an Onkyo Rack System with the Onkyo Speakers that came with the system but recently moved into an apartment and needed a smaller system with speakers large enough to sound good but also sit on a shelf instead of the floor. I picked up a pair of these Cerwin-Vega E-708 speakers brand new on eBay for $165 and they are outstanding and one of the best deals I have ever gotten on eBay. Very distinct and clear sounds and for only 8" woofers they have a good low bass sound. In fact they are very deceptive with their smaller size. They may look small but they sound BIG! If you like cymbals and acoustic guitar you are really going to be in for a treat as they really make the acoustic guitar and even cymbals really come through beautifully! Outstanding speakers at a very reasonable price.

Strength:

None

Weakness:

Everything. Shrill and grainy, no low end. There's no way these things have the low end response listed by the manufacturer.

I only used them for about 30 minutes before packing them off in a storage room several months ago so I don't remeber where they come from, only that I got them over the net.

I bought these pieces of garbage because I had heard that CW was strong in the low frequencies. I wanted them for my son to use.

Paid $202.50 for a pair of Klipsch KSB 3.1 on E Bay for my son. These are speakers for the price. VASTLY superior to CW in every aspect. You can feel these.

These peices of garbage aren't worth one star.

I'll sell them for $200.00

Strength:

Really good highs, cymbals sound awesome, accoustic guitar sounds like it's right in front of you, good tight bass

Weakness:

Nothing really for the price

These speakers are amazing. The guy that said they suck either has a defective pair (unlikely) or defective ears, or a really crappy amp. These sound awesome. Despite what he says you can feel the bass, for a balanced sound I usually turn bass to -2 and treble to +2 on my amp. The bass doesn't seem boomy its pretty tight. Where these speakers really seem to shine is reproducing cymbals and accoustic guitar. It sounds so realistic. They're also pretty efficient speakers for their size, they're bigger than the JBL's they replaced for me, but I don't have to turn my amp up as much. I also don't have to worry about the tweeter frying cuz they have some kind of tweeter proection circuit that shuts them off if the amp clips.

JBL800-I blew the tweeter and sent them back to JBL for repair and they sent them back to future shop said they were unrepairable and to exchange them. Future Shop was nice and offered me a $50 upgrade to these

I must get in this thread after reading such a false review from a user.

If your speakers were new (don't know because u got them from the net), you should let them some time to break in... At LEAST a couple of days... That's primordial... Never judge speakers by the first time you unpack them and plug them...

If not well... Just listen to them again... Or check which kind of amp you are using...

I am using for more than a year those speakers with a Harman Kardon receiver (AVR100 in the past, now with an AVR310) and they are really impressive. Great for music, great for movies. They are right on the Cerwin Vega tradition !

Strength:

super loud for an 8" driver, decent bass good highs super small and not hard to hide.

Weakness:

not quite enough bass for the rap music I listen too so I bought a 10" cerwin vega sub and cured that problem. and when I listen to alternative I just turn down the sub down.

For their size these are super lound. I hat 3-ways so I bought these and I'm not at all dissapointed. I also don't want to go deaf because of my music so I kept the size of my speakers down. and compared to my old hecos these are amazong the hecos were fine for mid volumes but not loud. I'd totally recomend these to anyone who wants a small but very loud speaker.

Similar Products Used:

heco studio 100's cheap garbage but I got them for $80 Canadian so I won't complain too bad but I couldn't ever turn them up because they distorted too badly.
