I have four CV AT-12's stacked for my main speakers driven by a Parasound 1200 mkII. The sound quality is very, very impressive. The bass is strong and tight, not boomy, which is because of the control of the power amplifier. Midrange is |

I agree that these speakers are not made for high-fidelity digitally accurate sound, but in the tradition of most Cerwin-Vegas! they are made for rock hard, loud, house-rumbling, dancehall sound, which is what some enthusiasts enjoy. I've had my AT-12's for 5 years now. Previously powered by a Sansui 100w/ch reciever, now with a Technics SA-EX510 120w/ch reciever. I have always been impressed with my speakers, wether when im pushing them to the limit or at low levels. I strongly suggest that you look into Cerwin-Vegas!, if you enjoy reggae, R&B, Hip hop, or anything that demands alot of bass at loud volumes.Your party guests will be impressed with the loudness and bass reproduction found in a home speaker. This is why Vegas have been the choice for many years in dancehalls, danceclubs, and for discjockeys. For the 1998 year I believe that Cerwin-Vega! has unfortunately discontinued the AT product line. Consider looking into the VS series, or the new RE series (replacement of AT's). Believe me, if your a person like me who just loves playing music loud then look in to Vegas. I would always buy Vegas again. |

Dear Nick, Cerwin lover from New Jersey, Ceerwin Vega speakers are "crisp" but certainly not accurate. Before discovering the high end, I owned a pair of D9's (awful treble and mids) followed by the much better AT-15's. While these speakers played loud with very prodigious bass, that was about all they did well. The AT-15 always had a harsh edge to the treble and upper midrange that could not be ameliorated no matter how much I tweaked these speakers. This tweaking included making adjustments to the level controls, experimentation with positioning and speaker cables. I removed the plastic spring clip connectors and replaced them with gold-plated binding post terminals for a more solid connection. I also soldered the wire connections to the speakers and crossover boards (the manufacturer uses flimsy push-on clips to make electrical connection). This is not to say that these speakers were not at all musical. they gave me many hours of listening pleasure. I listen to a wide range of music which includes R&B, rock, contemporary jazz and classical. On better quality recordings music was enjoyable. With lesser recordings, the music could be fatiguing at times. On well recorded jazz that featured acoustic instruments and classical recordings, instrumental timbre was not at all accurate. While Cerwin Vegas work well with most dance and popular music, they are not the best match for serious listening by those who know what real instruments sound like and wish to recreate that as closely as possible in the home environment. Among very high efficiency speakers (a category that includes JBL) Cerwin Vega ranks among the best. In this area they get five stars. When compared with all speakers other than the best high-end models, I give them 3 stars. |

I dont know what you cerwin bashers are talking about! I own the higher model At-15, and at-12. Both of these are very crisp, acurate speakers. All though ill admit the At-15's are 1000 at-12's. Cerwins aer great, dont bash em. If you dont like em go blow out your little B&W 50 watt bookshelfs, and your 20 watt aiwa subwoofer. Right there aiwa <-----you suck!Nick |

It's true that there are many people who just love Cerwin-Vega for the energetic music reproduction. Accuracy may not be as good as B&W, Tannoys, etc. But Vega owners just enjoy the efficient sound, bassy lows, and ruggid durability. James, don't bash Cerwin-Vega by compairing them to bose. Cerwin-Vegas need a good, clean, powerful amplifier to get amazing sound. If they are used with a cheap 100w/ch Pioneer it will sound like mush. Cerwin-Vegas have been the type of speaker for Dance Clubs and DJ's. I love my AT-12's because I am amazed by the reproduction of the music when I listen to my R&B/Hiphop/Reggae. This is why there is a "!" at the end of its name. For that reason only. AT-12 TEN STARS! |

Those of you who bash Cerwins for their great sound, buy a good amplifier. Im running my Cerwins with a Mcintosh 400w/ch amp. These speakers kick ass! They will sound like crap if they are used with a cheap $400 Pioneer. |

They are truly amazing speakers. You really need a good clean, dynamic amplifier to enjoy these puppys. I've had my AT-12's for 6 years now. WOW..they still amaze me. Unfortunately the AT series was discontinued. You might be able to find a pair still being sold. Very rare though. ATs are replaced by the VS series. The VS doesn't compare. |

oops...didnt see the retail price. Its all personal opinion anyway. I like the Bass. They still sound really good on a nice amp. I have tried a couple and the better the amp, the better these speakers perform. Still wondering if these are on the market. |

I've had my AT-12's for over five years now. The response from these speakers in incredible, especially considering the price. Pity they don't make these anymore. |
